The

Vampire

Amadeus

By: Jose A. Maldonado.

_______________________________________________________________

My days have passed away, my

thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my

heart.

They have turned night into day,

and after darkness I hope for light again.

If I wait hell is my house, and I have

made my bed in darkness.

I have said to rottenness: thou art

my father; to worms, my mother and

my sister.

Where is now then my expectation

and who considereth my patience?

All that I have shall go down into

the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there

at least I shall have rest?

~Job 17:11-17

___________________________________________________________________

"In my Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also."

Oh Lord of lords and King of kings, grant this damned soul entry to your divine house for in your presence I wish to live. My faith it is all I have now. After centuries of living it is all I have left within me all that I hold dear to my heart and soul, all I can call my own. My name is Amadeus, not to be confuse with the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus. I am still alive even after centuries of enduring the most horrible of times and the most difficult of moments. And how can this be? It is simple really, I am a vampire. During my time it was known as a Night Demon, later to Blood Demon, then in the early 10th century to the late 17th century we were calling ourselves, Night Walkers. It was around the 18th century when we were being officially called Vampires. But I don’t call myself that. I maybe a powerful and immortal being, but I am damned. And I know it, I feel it in my bones even in my beating heart. Yes it still beats. Even though after centuries of living.

-1-

I was born on December 15th 895 A.C. in the country side of Naples. My father had a very productive wine vineyard, my mother was a dedicated poet. I had a few younger siblings, most were girls. I only had two brothers. Giovanni and Pietro. I was the oldest, I was seventeen when I died. A mortal and physical. I was devout catholic child, I almost lived in church. My plans since I was ten years old was to become a Monk. And live out my life inside the walls of a beautiful monastery in the hills of Naples. But those plans changed. I was walking on a road back home from the village church when I began to see the smoke rising from the far east. The fire was coming from my home and I knew people were inside! My family were inside. I ran with all my force to the road that leaded to my family estate, the fire was like it was coming out of the gates of hell itself. On the road itself were tracks of horse, they seem to be hundreds of them. My family had many enemies on Naples, the Turrini family were the biggest enemies we had. They were a horse breading family that lived about five minutes away from my home. It was clear to me that they did it.

When I made it to the house, I saw my horror all of them, dead. Murder. Their lifeless bodies laid on the dirt and rock filled road. My mother’s roses were burned, the wild flowers that surrounded the entrance gates were all burned, everything was burned. My youngest brothers laid next to each other dead. And so were my sisters, but not one. The second oldest. Atia was missing, she was only sixteen and already began to take shape of a woman. I knew in my heart that they must have taken her. God only knew what they might be doing to her delicate self. I was never a violent person, nor am I now. But in those moments I mounted one of my fathers horses and with a sword in hand and I raced to the Turrini estate to avenge my family. In my mind the thoughts of my families bodies rotting away in the Italian summer burned into my thoughts and mind, and still hunts me to this day. When I saw the stone statues of stallions I knew I was getting close to those bastards home, but before I ever made it to the entrance road something stopped me.

I was in the floor before long my head smashed hard and fast into the ground. I heard footsteps coming towards me, then pain a lot of pain all over my body. I was being beating. Several times by the feet of those men, kicking and punching me. Into I was left in darkness.

When I finally awoke, I was no longer in the country side of Naples. I was in the city itself. Thrown in the streets. My clothing blood stained, my bronze like hair was entirely stained with blood and it smelled of it too. My body soar and ached all over it was so dreadful to walk. It was night time the summer nights were so different back then than they are now, stars so many of them. I walked those dark and empty streets feeling the pain in my body take over me. I walked for what seems hours looking for a place of rest, a church or a monastery something that will bring peace to my already dead soul. And I thought I found it, I felt that in my hear I found the place to rest my head for the night and spent my life. The place was enormous it look centuries old. It reminded me of the monasteries of Rome when I saw them as a child. I knocked on the door as hard as I could, but when the doors began to open I lost my inner fight and a gave in and I fell to the darkness of my inner self once more.

______

When I finally did awoke I felt different my body was being attended to, wrapped and it was healing. I knew that these monks were going to be my new family, but when I saw who came in I knew I did not landed on the doors of a monastery of any sort. The one who came through look to be around his early forties of late thirties. He was tall, muscular but not overly too muscular, unlike the men of the 21st century. He had short roman hair style, it looked to be a ash kind of tone. His eye impress me the most they were violet, but they looked like glass so bright and beautiful. But his skin, his skin sent shivers through my spine, his skin was bleached bone entirely white. He had a warm and kind smile on his thin lips, he looked please that I finally awoke.

"Finally you rejoin us in the land of those who are awake, master Amadeus." he said, his voice was so beautiful and sweet that it could turned on anyone who would listen to it.

"Where am I?" I said, without taking my eyes off him.

He laughed. "This is my home, you have being here for the pass five days. don’t worry you have not being a bother to me at all. In fact I enjoyed caring for yourself. I’m Gaius Tulio Agrippa." said Tulio, as I like to call him, bowing to me making me feel at peace in his presence.

"I thought this was a monastery, I was seeking one."

"It was one before. Centuries ago…now its my home. You see I’m a painter and I really enjoy the massive place I have in this palace."

"So, you painted that?" I said pointing to a mural on my far left wall, a fresco of a gorgeous landscape endless meadows and a most thriving sunrise ever.

"Yes. Years ago… you must be hungry. I will sent my servants to fix you a proper dinner and set clothing for you."
"To kind are you, but in all goodness I wont be needing it I will leave soon."
"To where? It seems to me that the Turrini family are still after you. And you are most safe and welcome to stay within my home as long as you like, in fact consider this your new home, Amadeus."

And so I did…

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins."

Oh Lord allow me this eternal servant a chance to drink of that cup for the forgiveness of my immortal curse and sin. For I separated from you and that is my eternal damnation for I wish to dwell with you. Oh Lord hear me…

Time passed and I stayed in the home of Tulio. I became a well gifted painter under his care. And in one evening he came to me and spoke of something I never in my life believed could even exist.

"My young pupil, my young and most loyal friend. I must speak to you with a heart open, for I wish not to hide from you anymore and I want you to understand who I am." he said his voice carried a certain amount of pain in him.

"Speak, my Master. Speak."

"I’m not a human. I haven’t being human since the days of Christ. I was there at the side of the cross while they pierced his flesh. I am a immortal creature of the night. I am a damned, a Night Demon. I live by night drinking the blood of my enemies. I lost my humanity when I was thirty seven, in Damascus. And since then I have being walking the nights of time since."

Hearing those words in my mind came images of him drinking the blood, seeing the passing of time, all the thing of which he spoke off. I grew a great fear in my heart that he knew, he knew very well.

"Please don’t fear me, you have nothing to fear. I will and shall never let any harm come to you over my immortal body something will ever harm you. I will protect you for ever until the day your eyes close to the light of this world."
"It doesn’t have to be that way…" I said. "I could go through life and existence with you. I could be your companion and see the world and time as you have seeing it. You don’t have to be alone in this, Tulio." I said kneeling at his feet resting my head on his lap. And he began to cry.

"I hope you might say that. For I wish for you to endure time with me also. But I want you to know that once you eat of the forbidden fruit there’s no going back. You must understand that you will change and you will see things in ways you have never seeing it before. And you will be witness to things that no living being should be."
"I’m my masters bond servant, I do him honor and I will serve him for eternity."

With that he took me, he slowly and gently tilted my head to my side exposing my pale white neck. He kissed it, and slowly began to puncture it with his fangs. The pain at first was so horrible it was so much for me to handle, but then it turn to something slightly erotic. Then when I felt so weak and almost lost in the moment he stopped. He took me and placed me close to his throat and made a simple cut into his throat and I began to drink. That liquid burned like hell fire, then it felt powering and exiting, it gave me strength and so much power. He realized me before I took his last drop and killed him. Then pain, more powerful and deadly pain, it irrupted out of my core and it shook me all over. I shook and rock in the floor, I was dying physically. From my bowls organs and feces came out. That both burned and soiled my clothing. I could not handle it anymore. But as the pain began to escalate in even higher form it stopped. And I emerge a new.

Tulio helped me out off my soiled clothing and help me into new ones. When I got sight of my self in the mirror I entirely could not believe who I was looking at. My bronze hair got thicker shinier and the color got brighter the waves it created had a grace like to it. My once blue eyes, gotten even brighter and they were shinning. My skin was different paler and it was smoothed and glowing almost. I open my mouth and my teeth had turned bright pearly white, and their four sets of fangs have grown. But something new was added my nails have grown a bit and they were whiter, almost translucent.

"You are now a walker of the nights with me." said Tulio kissing my cheek and I smiled at him.

Florence, Italy.

1450

Cosimo de’ Medici was in full power of Florence, the city was a true wonder and a beauty. Tulio and I moved here around 1296, keeping to ourselves we lived a fairly common and good life. I discovered more and more powers that I never knew I could achieve in my life. I could read minds, play with minds, manipulate object, move object, brake object, set objects on fire. But my favorite of all of them was the flying. I could take to the sky in less than a second and soar through it faster than any bird. One night while I was walking the streets of Florence I discovered a new gift. On that night it was raining and windy, I was on one of my nightly strolls something I did a lot and enjoyed. As I made it to the palace of Cosimo himself I saw something that capture my attention something standing in the highest tower. The figure was that of a human it wasn’t moving it remain still and motionless looking at me. I tried to read its mind, but I couldn’t pick up anything. I tried to see into his mind and I saw shadows of nothingness. Then the figured move and it appeared right next to me. He was tall, and handsome. Like today’s model or movie stars, that beautiful he was. He didn’t spoke or anything he just looked at me. His eyes were so strange they were glowing bright sky blue. His hairs was snow white and long reaching his shoulders. His skin was not as bleached but it was a creamy pale.

He remain their for what seems ages then he walked away. I kept my eyes on him for a while until I could no longer see him. When I returned to Tulio I told him of what I saw. He force me to detail the other man all the way down to his fingernails.

"What’s wrong, Tulio? Is he one of us?" I ask interested in the notion that I met another one like us.

"No, Amadeus. No that was not another. I believe you met him tonight." he said so calmly but his voice carried a certain edge to it.

"Met who?"

"Lucifer…"

My eyes shot open and I nearly fell to the floor, I could not believe it. I met Satan, he did not look like anything I ever in my life had ever imagine he was purely good looking and handsome. Not a monster at all.

"I forgot to tell you, that our souls since they are immortal we are stuck in two different realms neither living nor dead, we have access to both the mortal and the spiritual realms of existence. At time we might see ghost, spirits, lost souls who need help. But then at other times we see other things, things that humans are not meant to see…Angels and Demons. "
"You are telling me we can see-" the words could not come out of my mouth. I couldn’t believe it.

"Yes, and I was surprise you ran into him. He was just standing over Cosimo’s palace. Not doing anything."
"He was looking at me."
"He sent your presence, that’s all. I cant comprehend why he was doing there. One other thing don’t ever challenge a demon or a angel they are the only creatures that can physically kill us. The only ones. Never call upon one, never ever in your existence call upon one."
"I understand."

Narbonne, France.

1700

After centuries of constant moving places, Tulio promised me that we were finally found a place to set our life, in Narbonne in France. I enjoyed the small home we had, it wasn’t like the villa we had in Sicily or the manor in Turin, but it was home. But the peace and happiness of that place did not lasted long. One night while I was out on another of my nightly strolls the demons from my past came back to hunt me, my home with Tulio was being attacked and I knew all to well that Tulio was inside. I knew that he would come out that he must he wouldn’t leave me alone. He would join me here admiring the flames. He would come out. But he didn’t no matter how much I waited he didn’t come out. When I looked behind me a saw over ten others dressed in rags from the dead. Vampires they called themselves. They were like me and Tulio but they were of the dead servants of Lucifer they claimed.

I did not know what to do, I looked at the burning house and I looked at those crazed vampires. And I knew what I had to do instantly. With my strength set in place and concentrating as hard as I could, in one single moment I took to the sky and I flew fast. I had no one to go to no one to call a home with, my beloved Tulio was gone and I was alone. Alone again…alone…eternity has not being what I thought it was going to be, now that I lost my friend and companion. I began to land in a place I haven’t set afoot on since the 10th century. Naples. I return to my birth place. I could feel the rays of the sun on the rise, so with my fast and inhuman speed I made a home in a abandon and old monastery. In their I locked myself and in their I saw the pass of time….

"He who testifies to these things says, ’Yes, I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus."

Naples, Italy

2008

I write these things not for pride nor to show the world of my existence I write these things in order to keep my soul alive to remember to myself who I am. To remember that I am Amadeus Lipolino born out of a women on a cold December 15th 895 A.C. I must remember that. Even though my faith is still with me. At times I forget that even God could be with me and exist. Even though I have seeing Lucifer and many other angels and demons I still hold a doubt in my heart. My faith is all I have. I am a Night Walker. I am Amadeus. I was once mortal I am no longer one. I write to remember I write to keep those memories alive in me and keep me remembering of them.

Tulio is gone a will never come again. I live alone on the same old monastery since 1700. The place had change it no longer feels the same the cold walls may tell some different tale, but I know my own tale. Oh God hear your eternal damned servant please grant me pardon and entrance to your eternal kingdom. Oh Lord hear me….hear me.

"The Grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen."
