I consider myself one of the many mini-Gods of Risk. Playing many fierce battles, and creating ultimate strategies. I get invited to Rich and Cathy's house to play. What goes through my mind? Muahaha I'm going to rule the world and crush my friends, right?  Wrong, they pull out this Lord of the Rings version of Risk. Despite how awesome Lord of the Rings is, as well as Risk. The two just don't merge together. Instantly I said woah, I claim no boasting of victory on this board. It's just not natural. As the game goes. I find myself with a nice cozy little area, few entrances. The way I like it. What happens next? Rich declares war and attacks my borders. Weakened from our struggle, many soldiers are dead. Goblins and Elves alike, but I held steadfast and strong. But then from the East Cathy's army comes by and crushes Rich's defenses and then penetrates my borders. Next turn comes around, I fight valiently to reclaim by territory and drive the infedels away. But to no victory, for every landmass I took back. I had to struggle to keep, and was eventually taken over again by the Ghengis Khan herself. With little to no resources for myself or Rich. I did what any self respecting warlord would do. I put all my armies together and send out an all out assault on his lands. If I'm going to go down under Cathy the Khan, I'm going to go out a blood thirsty vengful SOB. So I wasted his lands, and claimed all but two territories. The sweet smell of a well faught battle was in the air... but then she made her move, we all cowered in fear as her thousands of troops came down from the mountains. Trampling horse and man, as if there was nothing standing in her way. We were all eliminated, as she claimed the world to herself. It was an epic battle indeed, and a fight worth dying in. But I will come back again, and seek my revenge. Prepare your men, feed your horses, and prep thy arrows. For my armies will come back, and ravage your people and salt your lands.

Ohhh, Risk......a totally fun game.....I have only ever played the LOTR version (it is the only one I own, being a LOTR FREAK!), and it was my first experience with the game. I am very interested in playing the regular version, though. Maybe when I go back to the States I will pick it up.....that is, unless I can find it here. Then I can brush up. Good luck with all your future battles! :-)
