This group show features a savory mix of San Diego Latin@s whose work ranges from spicy to sweet, sublime to surreal.

San Diego's close proximity to the Mexican border makes for a fusion of sumptuous styles. Check out Combination 9 and see what's on the menu:

Bob Rob (Medina): is both an educator and a visual artist from San Diego. His latest work "Bite Your Tongue" stems from resentment toward a series of tests he took to fulfill his obligations to the State of California. Arrogance loves ignorance when CA voters approved Proposition 227. Oops children were left behind! Link - Bobrobart.com

Sarah Biolley: La Sopa del Dia – Cook's inspiration subject to change.

Selina Calvo: Tostadas – Freshly made canvases with choice of creativity, imagination, vision, or infatuation. $1.50 for each additional topping. Link - Selina

Sonia Lopez Chavez: Taco De Papa-Crispy corn tortilla stuffed with creativity, topped with Mexican style salsa. Served with homemade talent and chips. Link - Sonia Lopez Chavez

Chikle: The Chikle (cheek-lay) Special – A little bit of this and little bit of that, topped with spicy controversy salsa.

Chikle was born and raised in San Diego by a pair of brave and beautiful Mexican Immigrants. He began screen-printing in 1995. His work is a response to a society and system that censors anti-war and anti-establishment propaganda. (www.elchikle.com or www.myspace.com/chikle)

Carlos Beltran was born in Tijuana. He began documenting tattoo culture and the lives of local musicians through black and white photography as a hobby but started taking it more seriously after an accident. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Voz Alta Project.

Anselmo Garcia is a self-taught artist who was born in San Diego and grew up on both sides of the border. He is a member of the Voz Alta Project and Centro Cultural de la Raza's Visual Arts Subcommittee. He is working on his degree in graphic design. (www.myspace.com/anselmoart)

Nuvia Crisol Guerra was born in Los Angeles and received her degree in biochemistry/cell biology from University of California. A molecular biologist by day, she explores the many ways that science and culture connect in her colorful paintings. (www.artecrisol.com)

Ricardo Islas was raised in Calexico on the California border with Mexico. Inspired by the expressionism of Jose Clemente Orozco, Frida Kahlo and Francisco Goya and the brooding angst of the "punk" scene, his work is personal, emotionally raw, and complex. (www.myspace.com/islasarte)
