I think "The silence after rain" is the first song I ever composed. I came up with it on the keyboards sometime in the late seventies, while working on lyrics supplied by Judith. I didn't start playing the guitar until the early eighties. The recording of it (on my profile) was done last week with two cheap poundland mikes (one taped to my guitar, the other a headset) connected to my computer, with ARWizard recording the result. What entrances me about the recording is the feeling that the soul shines through. So it was annoying that I made one glaring error misremembering the chord sequence at one point. The is a far from subtle patch on the error, but it will have to do until the next time I get my soul onto it as effectively as this version - and have the space to sit chained by two mikes to a computer. I also got a recording of my song "The Labyrinth" out of the session.
Welcome to the Labyrinth Busker journal. How much I publish on myspace depends on how much I like the blog tools. Meanwhile, here is a list of homepages for some of my websites:
buskerbrian.com My main homepage
Moonsite A Flash website where music, images and imagination seek empathy with your soul and mind. This site also gives a tribute and a taster to friends and performers I admire (including, Stormy Normy, Eva Hafner, Ken Post and Apache John. Also includes an interview of me by Jim Druid.
Audio and Lyrics site This site has recordings of my songs (scraped together on the road) with lyrics. Plain and simple. The site has the name of each song on the navigation bar. Just choose one and the music will play with the lyrics spread out before you. I often wonder what might have been if my male/female duo with Kim, The Flying Elfs, had been given time to grow. I had a couple of fine musicians poised to join the project. It could have been exciting and slick.
About me My first ever website (published Feb, 1994) is a run down on my busking past, my journal and the vast reservoir of content therein.
