Hey Peeps!
Today is Susan Get Down's 2 year anniversary on MySpace. I feel like we've been on here forever and at the same time, like we just got here. We're sooooo in the early stages of our journey as a band and have accomplished so much in so little time.
Working with Jem and Mr. A. (the other two members of the band, who create ALL the music to which I write lyrics to) has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had. Our chemistry - though we've never met in person (they live in Spain, I live in the USA) is undeniable. I connected with virtual strangers more than I've connected to people who were in the same room as me. Distance is irrelevant: chemistry is always the most important factor in any creative venture.
What was supposed to be a one-song collaboration has turned into an exciting new chapter in my life. I am so thankful and grateful for the work I've done and will do with Jem and Mr. A. and can't believe that our music has brought so many great people into our lives, like you - our friends and fans!
In two short years, Susan Get Down has written a total of 12 songs, released an EP (which is on iTunes, Amazon.com, etc.), had songs played in clubs around the world, been included on a compiliation CD and had two music videos for the tracks "HotBoxx" and "High Fashion PassioN", created by director Dave Marr of Marrvelous Films. We've worked with the fabulous RayaLight, Christian Hadsel and had our records spun by uber-glamazon DJ Chi Chi LaRue. We've done worldwide press and had our tracks remixed by some of the most creative DJs and artists - like PdL from Mirror Boiyz, Hazcaso DJ and Kanina Tek. So much in such a short timeframe - it still amazes me when I look back at all our accomplishments.
...and you haven't seen ANYTHING yet!
We're in the mixing stage of our new 5-track EP - Aural Sexx Vol. 2, which I know will bring us even more fans and spawn more hit songs. I'm confident our new single, "Hum", will you have writhing around the dance floors like the whores you secretly (and for some of you, not-so-secretly) are! Get ready, bitches!
As I look forward, I forsee many great things and none of it would mean anything without you guys! Your support of our work gives us meaning, otherwise we'd just be singing to ourselves. On behalf of the band, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Stick with us - we're not going anywhere!
Love,
Devian
