I was just told that my dear friend, collaborator and translator Thays Glasgow passed away today. Other than a confirmation of this painful fact, I have no other details. My heart goes out to all who love her. I will never forget her.
Paul Thays wrote the Portuguese lyrics to my song 'Will You Sing Me a Lullaby (Vai Me Fazer Dormir)", and just two weeks ago encouraged and helped me while I was writing my English lyrics for "Samba de Orfeu".
I have never in all my life met a more vibrant, vivacious, intelligent and engaging person than Thays. Her loss is devastating to me, and I knew her so briefly. I can only imagine how those who knew her longer must feel.
