Current mood: animated
so it's good to be back. our forst show was last saturday night...and it exceeded MY expectations. we are going to be recording two ep's at the living room studio in two months. on thursday, march 19 we will play in austin at the spider house cafe for the post-punk.com unofficial sxsw showcase(our slot is at 6pm).
new bassist, ronan bradley did an exceptional job, by the way, big shoes(though size 9's) to be filled.
also march 22, we will be at the balcony music club in new orleans with our "label"-mates, the prids....show is for 10pm
so this is a review on OUR part of our first show, which was part of the indie rock collective's 3 day festival...
The Public, who was playing its first show since the death of bassist Ryan Plattsmier, was hands-down my festival favorites. More than any other group at this fest (or at the previous NOIRF), they flat-out owned their performance. There could have been no one else in the club and they still would have shaken it to its core. It was a dazzlingly cataclysmic, New Wave dance party charged with post-apocalyptic atmospherics, angular squalls, and surging rhythms.
yeah you right...
