So, I'd like to get to know you guys... We've had an outpouring of support lately on our MySpace profile, and that's awesome... Your comments about our new sound have been listened to and appreciated. "Anything But" is not slated for a commercial release anytime soon, but it is "Step One" in the right direction, and it's nice to know you're feeling it!

I don't know a better way to get acquainted with you guys than sharing about our music. A couple of weeks back, I posted a new (or, rather very old) track on our page: our original demo mix of "Redemption"... It's one of our oldest songs... and one of the most loved Goin Nova songs, played at almost every concert after it was written (which was... 1999? 2000? we were kids!)... While it's still hard in 2007 for us to conform and write "jingles" that clock in at exactly 3 and a half minutes, it was REALLY hard for us back then. At the time, I think we actually felt like this six-and-a-half minute ambient piece was "radio ready" LOL... shows you what we know. But, as we look forward, it's nice to reflect on where we've been so far. I feel new perspective about this song and its original mix right now. I love the spirit of the lyrics and the melody especially (though I am always my worst vocal critic...)

Anyway, check it out -- it's on our page right now. Here's what I wrote about it in the Comments field: "This is a song about forgiveness and freedom... Letting go of fear and learning to be loved and teachable. This version is from the first sessions for 'Hymns For the Unborn', when it was just to be a 4-song self-titled Goin Nova demo! Wow, it's amazing how the best laid plans end up, isn't it? Later, Barry Blair would revise this into the version on HFTU with my re-cut lead vocal on the verse."

Thoughts/opinions? Love to hear them....
