Is the end of our great nation near? Well I can't help but believe it is, unless we do something about this reckless spending, and these outrageous tax hikes, that Mr. Obama is trying to rush through Congress. I do not understand why he keeps saying we are in a crisis and things are really bad and can only get worse unless we hurry up and spend trillions of taxpayers dollars. His wild spending doesn't stop with the bills being pushed thru congress. It has been brought to my attention that while I struggle to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads, The First Family are busy partying it up in the Whitehouse at night. From what I can find in my research, they are not sparing any expenses while doing this. You know I could have overlooked them flawnting a new swingset on the Whitehouse lawn for the sake of those two little girls, but to throw lavish affairs at night in the Whitehouse while I eat tuna and ground beef as I worry over my finances, is just a little more than I can overlook. It just totally amazes me that the Liberals are Okay with this when they would have flown into a really huge RAGE, if it was GW and Laura doing this. Our Senators and Representatives are no better with their lavish lifestyles and big spending Bills.

Dems falling apart over Omnibus spending bill

Rick Moran

Pass the popcorn, please. This is getting good.

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi went after each other in a closed meeting with the Democratic leadership over what to do about the Senate's failure to pass the Omnibus spending bill that would keep the government running through the year.

The problem is that the GOP is balking over the 8,000 earmarks as well as some other wasteful spending that they wish to see removed.
And Reid can't get the Republicans to budge which has angered Pelosi who feels rather exposed after the House passed the bill easily:

After an angry, swearing late night meeting among top Democrats, Congress voted Friday to give itself another five days to try to complete a long-overdue omnibus spending bill that had become a growing embarrassment for party leaders and President Barack Obama.

Senate Democrats had abruptly pulled back Thursday night after finding themselves one vote short of the 60 needed to cut off debate. The action infuriated Speaker Nancy Pelosi so much that the California Democrat wanted to abandon the $409.6 billion measure and instead push through a stripped-down continuing resolution to keep the government operating through Sept. 30.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) and his deputy, Majority Whip Richard Durbin (D.-Ill.) were called to Pelosi’s office late Thursday night and ultimately prevailed in their argument that Democrats should try to salvage the bill, which includes critical spending increases for vital agencies. But the heated, sometimes profane, exchanges were described as “ugly” by Democrats on both sides of the Capitol. Staff, kicked out in the hall, could hear the yelling, and Pelosi herself seemed a little abashed the next day, joking that nothing her leadership could say to her now would match the night before.

The speaker’s anger was directed primarily at Senate Republicans, who withheld their support even when they had substantial interests in the measure. Pelosi feels that Republicans are gaming the Democrats, who have to be tougher in turn by forcing them to live with the consequences of what she sees as obstruction.

The speaker’s scorched earth alternative, killing the omnibus, was too much for some in her own leadership. But Pelosi’s anger is shared by many House Democrats along with the fear that the Senate debate is being dragged out by Republicans as part of a concerted campaign to pummel Obama even as the young president tries to keep the nation focused on his economic agenda and budget going forward.

This is more than simple obstructionism by the GOP. It is an attempt to hold the Democrat's feet to the fire on the more than $14 billion in earmarks. If they want that kind of waste in the bill, they are going to have to eat the pork sandwich themselves with no help from Republicans.

The Democrats look weak, unsure of themselves, and in disarray - which mirrors exactly how the White House looks.

You think there's some kind of connection? Don't bother looking for it in the media since the impasse is being protrayed as just more GOP obstructionism.

I can't believe that the MSM has lost their journalistic instinct, when it comes to reporting something this juicy. Man they have drank too much kool-ade or something. I think the argument is hillarious.

IF THE DEMS KEEP FIGHTING AMONG THEMSELVES AND MORE AMERICANS SPEAK UP, THEN I THINK WE MIGHT JUST COME THRU THIS.

That's OK Dave. It was well worth the read. I will add that some Conservative Liberals and some Moderates as well are starting to go against all this spending. They realize that Congress is way overdoing it with all the pork and earmarks. Even some of the Republicans who put in Earmarks has changed their mind and are not voting for it.

You get the fresh squeezed Lemon-ade today, for being first to comment on this blog.

HERE'S ANOTHER ONE TO MULL OVER.....

.

U.S. lawmakers traveled around the globe during Congress' winter recess on VIP luxury Air Force jets, the U.S. television program Inside Edition says. Using hidden cameras, a reporter and producer from the syndicated show reported that the members of Congress frequently brought their spouses along on the trips to European destinations, where they stayed in upscale hotels. In one trip taken last week, Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md., led a delegation of seven lawmakers, including four U.S. senators and three U.S. representatives, as well as five wives, to Israel, Syria and Vienna, the show's producers said. Cardin and other members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee were in the Middle East on a fact-finding mission and on Feb. 18 met with Syrian President Bashar Assad, who indicated he wanted to find ways to improve relations with the United States, the Voice of America reported. Inside Edition also said it followed U.S. Rep. John Tanner, D-Tenn., who led another delegation of several lawmakers and some wives to Brussels, Paris and Vienna, where producers said they "watched as several of the Congressional spouses were chauffeured around while out on a shopping spree, and were escorted around by government aides.

This really Urks me! Those in Washington want us to tighten our belts so they can continue to live the life they have become accustomed to. Bullshit. If I have to cut back so should they. But with that said, I do not believe all this doom and gloom and crisis mess that Obama is throwing at us.
I refuse to let him just waltz in with his socialism!!!!!

I have this awful feeling lately like I am on a runaway train. It looks like the Dems are going to run this country into an economic situation that will be worst than the current economic crisis. Hey...why not just try to put the fire out with kerosine???

Mary, things sure aren't looking good these days. The poor old workin' man' just don't have a chance anymore.

And now I am hearing that if some of what Cogress is doing does create some jobs, there are about 300,000 illegals waiting to take them, because they are jobs that the average American won't do. I say Bullshit. The American worker is what made this country great and continues to do so today. Besides, There are enough work visas being issued to this country to cover any so-called jobs that Americans don't want, there is no excuse for the illegals to be here taking our jobs.

Allen, I haven't heard that one, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. I hope all Employers will make sure that who they hire are American Citizens. I have several friends who are unemployed and about to loose everything they have. I would hate to think that illegal immigrants are taking jobs from them, and from any American that needs a job.

Sean, I agree. There has to be some accountability. But, I don't know if we can count on the Government to do that or not. I say Shame On You, to any Employer that hires illegals. It will probably be up to people like you and me to keep our eyes and ears open to this. Although, again, I don't know if we can count on our Government to deport any illegal worker that we might turn into them, or to punish the Employer that hired them.

You're darn tootin! Look during the campaign Obama floated the once-killed "carbon tax, cap n trade" idea that we had successfully averted already. He admitted that "electricity would necessarily have to skyrocket." Duh. Yet he thinks this is a good idea??? Moron. This scheme will cost us TRILLIONS of dollars, and we will gain nothing in return. The only people who will gain anything from that scam are China, Russia, Venezuela, OPEC, the EU and Mexico. Gee, I wonder if that's why they've been hiring lobbyists, like Bill Clinton, to pressure the President and Congress (conflict of interest, anyone??) to adopt this insane legislation.

Something has to give soon. Either what they are doing has to start working and I mean right now or I am gonna have to have a major lay-off. I have been bidding work at cost just to give the guys something to do, but that is not paying the bills. Where is the help for the little guy like me? I have been faxing my Senators , maybe it will make a difference.

What is our Government thinking? If no-one has a job and aren't paying taxes where do they think tax money will come from to fund all this spending they are doing?

Unfortunately Mary, we're the only ones who notice things like that... Liberals give him a pass and don't see anything wrong with anything he does. Like when he flew on Marine One to go to Colorado to sign the first Stimulus bill... HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars wasted in cost of using Marine One, when he could've just signed it at the White House... but he had to make a spectacle out of the ordeal. He will run this country right to the ground.

Your blog makes so much sense that it will surely be ignored by the liberals in power as simplistic. I like simple things.....I earn money, I save money, I spend money.......MY MONEY. You keep your hands off mine and I'll keep my hands off yours. If you need money, get a job. If you are disabled or unable to work, there are programs to help you already. If your business fails, that's tough.....you fix it or close up shop. It's called personal responsibility....is that simple enough?

Think its time to replace the people we have sent there, with people who have actually been living in the real America thsese last few yeras.

I "simply" don't believe that any business is too BIG to fail. My Grandpa always said the bigger they are the harder they fall.
