Social Task - Self titled release out on Artifix Records

Social Task sprouted from Huntington Beach's chaotic and ultra violent hardcore punk scene of the late 1970's.  Just like the scene that spawned them Social Task's songs reflect an anti social "We don't give a fuck" attitude- dealing with topics like doing drugs, committing acts of violence, running from the police, and generally being the subject of controversy. The music is fast and cutting, taking no prisoners. There is nothing funny or cute about this record. There are no gimmicks or apologies given- it's simply a musical documentation of a way of life. With the first side featuring songs from a 1979 Warner Bros recording session (resulting from the band being scouted at a gig opening for Black Flag at the Starwood) and the second side featuring 2007 recordings of songs from their vintage catalog,  this record makes it clear that Task's music remains raw and vital.
