Thanks to Davey Peckett and his UK instrumental rock publication "The New Gandy Dancer" for the great review and write up in the latest issue NGD 84.
"Always good to hear a new name and surf hasn't been that busy of late. North of Malibu is fronted by guitarist George Boccanfuso and the album here was recorded live in the studio in the old fashioned way. Lots of fine surf dripping guitars and crashing drums on carefully chosen favourites like Dick Dale's "Esperanza" and The Gamblers' "Moondawg", Link's "Rawhide", Paul Johnson's sublime "Squad Car" and Duane's "Movin' & Groovin". There's also a bunch of authentic fun originals written by George which fit neatly alongside the classic material. Very good!
