I think I can hear you gasping in horror from here. Yes, it's true. SHOW NO FEAR (Sept. 09) will be the seventh and last book in my Navy SEALs series. Why, you ask? Well, I was basically told by my publisher that in order to "grow" as an author I have to broaden my readership and to do that, I have to get away from strictly military men. I have to say, I was disappointed. I love guys in a uniform. But then I thought of a way to do what my publishers wanted AND stick with the kind of guys I like. So, I think I'm going to create a Home Land Security task force comprised of an FBI representative, a Navy SEALs, a DEA guy, an NSA guy...you get the idea. At the heart of every book there will still be a passionate love story and chilling suspense. So, stick with me, readers, and you won't be disappointed.

Hey, Marliss! Publishers and editors aren't always right, you know. As a hard core book junkie and a fan of your books, bring it on!! I know I won't be disappointed.
I'm looking forward to meeting your new characters! Keep up the great work!!

Marliss,

I have been hooked on your books from the very first page of your first Navy SEALs book. I have never been disappointed in any of your books, and I highly doubt I ever will be. I look forward to getting to know your new characters. Afterall, it is not necessarily the profession of the character which makes him or her intriguing but the story and the driving force behind each character. I think you make all of your characters both intriguing and believable. Even better is your ability to draw readers into the plot. I think you are a great storyteller.
I definitely look forward to whatever you have in store for us!!

Thanks, everyone, for your warm affirmation. I feel motivated! Just to let you know, I'm first planning to write a novella for a Special Ops anthology about a Navy SEAL poser (not the real deal) who tries to manipulate my heroine into worshiping him, only she's no dummy. She enlists the service of a VeriSEAL (real SEALs who catch the fake ones) and HE turns out to be the man of her dreams.

The SEALs books have definately been some of my favorite, and has gotten through the boredom and loneliness when my own husband has been gone serving uncle sam. However I, as anyone who has read your books knows that anything you put out will be a great read, and I'm sure everyone is just as excited to see what knew things you come up with.
good luck!

Wow, I just discovered your books a couple months ago, and have been devouring the Navy SEALs series, I'm on book 5 right now.  I'll be reading everything you write from now on, so it doesn't matter if it's about a sexy Navy SEAL or a hunky FBI agent, it's your talent as a storyteller that makes the magic in all your books! Thank you for sharing your imagination with all the rest of us.  :) May, from Maine, and her "babies" Yoda (left) and Ivy (right).
