After a four year stop on my little Chatham Music Archive project, I am back to try to get the Archive up to speed. If you’re from Chatham, a Chatham band or simply bored, check it out.

It should turn out pretty good in the coming months as I have asked some friends for some research to help us all out on this. Just for fun.
Cheers!
Shawn B.
First I sincerely want to thank you and our ‘My Space’ friends who have been adding tracks to your play lists. That’s what it's all about, sharing music and discovering new music by introducing it to other friends.
We have 2 new demos posted. We hope you likey likey.
#11. Will you forgive me in the end?
#12. Last day of summer.
' Will you forgive me in the end' was recorded with the help of some local friends. Larry Schoefeld (My old neighbor from a few years back) who is a true music lover, came over & played jazz organ on this track. We talked about music for a while then hit record & were done before we knew it.
I am excited also that Sarah Hiltz recorded backing vocals with us on this one. Sarah is a singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist with a beautiful voice who we really wanted to have over to play music with. Her dad is Bob Hiltz, who everyone in the local music community knows, or should know of. So thank you Sarah. Feel free to leave a comment if you know her. My kids were also excited that Sarah was over to record, as they both have fun dancing & singing around the house to music.
Jesse sang lead vocal as well as helped put it together. So thanks to him again. Summers coming & it's a busy time as parents & in-laws call for help moving this & that. Lol
Good-Bye winter & hello BBQ’s. Thanks for spreading the music. We want to know which Demo Kid song means something to you the most. These are demos, so your idea’s to improve any song is welcome. Tell us what you think a certain song may need to make it better. Your ideas are welcome. Let’s hear them. Help us write a song that will out live us all. Lol
Sincerely,
Shawn

I want to thank Andy Tattersall for adding electric lead guitar to ‘Be In Love’. Jesse Verleye suggested we ask him because he would be the perfect fit, and he was right.
Again, Thanks to Jesse for all his help & for originally writing ‘Laughing at Her’, in which he let me do my thing to his idea. A big cheers to Bob Hiltz for keeping me up to date on the learning curve of engineering & production tools.
That’s it for now, were just gonna finish up the rest of the tracks & see ya soon. Oh, & Keegan, if your back in Canada… call me for a beer buddy.
Cheers. Shawn.

January/Feb 2009 Update
The music hobby swings happily along. I planned to slow down this year but it seems within 2 weeks that went completely backwards. Here are some answers to some recent questions along with a thank you for checking out the demos/ Music!
Q :What was that song you wrote with Rivers from Weezer?
A: I contributed & submitted a demo version of a song under the direction of Rivers for his little online project where he wrote a song with some fans. It was originally titled ‘80’s radio but has changed to 'turnin turnin'.
A few weeks ago Rivers said that this was a contender for the next Weezer CD but has to be voted by all the band members. If it doesn’t make the record, it will appear in some form. It is currently being sent to the wolves (Producer Jack Knife Lee).
Q : What about that country CD you were working on :
A : All the demos are done for it and it is ready to be done up properly. This is a Song writing project where we plan to work with a publishing company to release the songs under another artist. I really really love 3 of them & wish I could share them with everyone. Lots in the bag for later
Q : Is there a demo coming soon?
A : Sometime. We just want to have fun writing & recording home demos. We are not looking to sell our souls, or spam people, asking them to make us famous.
Q : Where can I get a copy of the posted songs?
A : Those that have sent email requests about this, for a particular song, were sent the mp3 they requested. If you want a copy, just send a message with your email address.
Q : Where is the vibe going?
A : It’s a free for all. Lol. If it was 1991, we were into thrash, 1997 we were balls deep in Weezer & punk/hardcore. By 2004 we were into everything, even country.
Not being a band by band definition allows us to do whatever we want instead of being stuck with just one kind of music.
We will probably try allot more new things before tapping back to our punk/metal/hardcore roots.
We write & record whatever seems to be interesting to us at the time, & right now, having these new tools to record at home opens doors to allot of fun.
