Current mood:  indescribable

Why are we here?  A question that has been asked , no doubt, by every human being since the beginning of our existence.  Some ask friends.  Some ask our God.  Some ask themselves, perhaps in the hope that by hearing their own inner voice, it will somehow wake them up to do something drastically different to invoke a change in their life or lifestyle.  Which brings me to a couple of random and incomplete thoughts and questions:

What would make a person purposely want to start a slow descent into evil?
Is it boredom?  There is an old saying that "idle hands are the devil's play things".  Could this really be true?  Or is it that they feel their good and evil "pendulum of life" has favoured the good side, and in order to really experience all that life has to offer, some gray ingredients need to be added to the recipe to make for better wisdom?

Is God Himself the director of each and every one of our lives, and He intervenes from time to time to make sure you learn certain lessons in life, so you can go to Heaven with some kind of celestial knowledge?
I don't know.  None of us will ever know until it's too late.  So, do you play it safe on Earth, and risk angering God for not learning all you could while you were here, or are you supposed to do the devil's work early in your life, then suddenly accept Jesus as your Saviour, just in time to ask for forgiveness (and do so before you die), guaranteeing your place in Heaven on a technicality?

Sadly, I think most people do the latter, which in my opinion is a slap in the proverbial face of God.  I'm not saying He has spoken to me or anything, but I just have a feeling that He wants us to experience the good, AND evil that life has to offer, so we can REALLY appreciate Heaven when we arrive.
I say:  Draw up a list.  A list of all the good things you've done in your life, and the bad ones.  Think of everything.  Leave no dirty little secret or skeleton in the closet untouched.  It's the only way to truly get an accurate reading of which way that pendulum is swinging right now.
Then adjust your life accordingly....

Well said, Bri!!!!  I totally agree!  Kinda like the show, "My Name is Earl".  Have you seen it?  Except he trys to undo every wrong he's ever done on his list of wrongs, which is a very cool concept! If the whole world would do that, how awesome would it be!!!
