Unsilent Night is a copyrighted work of art and we want to be sure that Phil Kline’s rights as an artist are respected and your presentations conform to some basic guidelines that we have set up.

2009 Guidelines

·      Contracts

This year we are going to be sending contracts to you with detailed terms for presenting Unsilent Night. Please review your contract and return your signed copies to us as soon as possible. We’ve tried to keep the contract as simple and straightforward as possible—don’t let the legalese scare you. If you have any questions about it, send them to us at unsilentnight@gmail.com

·      Fees and admission

Presenters may not charge admission for participation in Unsilent Night.  For some events, there may be a presenter’s fee. All the terms will appear in your contract.

·      Promotion, advertising and presentation

All promotional materials, websites, press releases, posters and fliers must clearly refer to the work as Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night at least once, presumably the first time it’s mentioned.  If possible, please send pdfs of your promotional materials and website urls to us at unsilentnight@gmail.com

We will supply a description of the event which can be used as a model or incorporated directly into your materials.

Your presentation of Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night should adhere to the directions in our “How-To” guide, posted at UnsilentNight.com. If you would like to introduce another element into an Unsilent Night presentation, permission must be granted by Phil Kline.

·      Use of music

Cassettes, CDs and mp3s of the Unsilent Night music are protected by copyright. Beginning this year, 2009, we will provide a link where the mp3s can be downloaded until the time of the last scheduled event, rather than have individual presenters post their own links.

These are just a few presentation guidelines to help maintain the integrity of the event as it travels through the world.  We know that each individual city or town’s Unsilent Night will be as different and unique as the place where it’s held, and that’s what makes it so special. Of course, if you have specific questions please contact us at unsilentnight@gmail.com.

Thanks very much for your interest in Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night, and we look forward to working with you.

Thanks!
