Can you believe it! Spring is here and it’s time to once again celebrate Earth Day! Luckily, this year we have a new President and Administration that is far more environmentally conscious but there are still lingering effects from the previous Administration, especially when it comes to issues that effect dolphins, whales, and our oceans.
As we speak, Dr. Bill Hogarth, a Bush holdover appointee and the current US delegate and Chairperson of the International Whaling Commission (IWC), is trying to broker a deal with Japan that will end the whaling moratorium and legitimize their scientific whaling along with a new form of coastal whaling.
This is an urgent situation!! Please go to www.SocialVibe.com <http://www.socialvibe.com/> and sign our exclusive petition to uphold the current whaling moratorium and end all commercial and scientific whaling by Japan, Norway, and Iceland.
It’s really easy, all you have to do is go to www.SocialVibe.com <http://www.socialvibe.com/>, click on our petition banner and type in your name, country, and e-mail address. Our goal is at least 1 milliion signatures and I will be personally delivering our petition to the upcoming IWC meeting on the Island of Madeira commencing 2 months from now on June 20th.
As of now, we have over 140,000 signatures and we have nearly 50,000 Whaleman supporters on SocialVibe alone, so if each of us can collect just 20 more signatures, we will reach our goal in no time! Time is of the essence! Iceland recently announced it was upping its quota from 40 whales/year to 250 whales/year including 150 endangered Fin Whales and 100 Minke whales so sign our petition today! While you are there, grab the widget and post it to your MySpace page, blog, etc. It’s really easy and it’s a great way to get your family and friends to sign on as well.
In addition to signing our petition, there are other things you can do to help us preserve and protect dolphins and whales and our ocean world!
