If you want to hear my cabaret interpretation of The White Album's opening track you can find it on the cover cd of this months Mojo magazine (available now from all good retail outlets).
I thank Tullis Rennie and Chris Lydon for their stellar trombone and tuba performances, and Matt Halsall for the top notch arrangements.
The cd also contains Aidan Smith's deliriously schizophrenic cover of Happiness Is A Warm Gun which i can highly recommend.
Lots of things are happening...so just to keep you in time, here's some stuff to listen out for...
If you pick up BBC radio Manchester, then listen this sunday (3/8/08) lunchtime 12-2 when i'll be a guest on Andy Crane's show and be playing a few songs. Edd the Duck isn't invited.
I'm doing a session for Q Radio on wednesday (7/8/08) afternoon, i'm not sure when it will be aired but i promise to let you know...
...also on wednesday a mini interview thingio for Steve Lamacq's show on Radio 2 which will go out the following week...
...and finally on wednesday evening if you are in Camden then make your face known at The Enterprise for Peggy Sue (and the pirates/pictures/...) new e.p. launch. I'm playing a short set...a fun night out for all the family it will be.
So yes....
I have just finished hand stamping, numbering and packaging up 1000 vinyl copies of Midnight Blues which will be out for buying on the 11th August. And on the B-side a cover of I Do Wrong by The Great Park (aka Stephen Burch). I thank him for letting me borrow it, for it is a rather brilliant song.
Any fingerprints you find on the vinyl will be mine so i apologise in advance. But on the plus side, if you are lucky enough to find one, you can do that thing with flour and sticky tape and frame me for crimes i did not commit.
And so to bed...
Liz.
I didn't do it.
