I'm so excited for you!! What a great opportunity and such high exposure. I'd seen all the reviews for Mad Men and just *knew* this historical fiction buff would love it...and I was right. Saw seasons 1 and 2 this summer, and am now watching season 3. MM is such a well-done show...so accurate, not only in the superficial stuff(clothes, cars, ugly wallpaper), but also captures the social climate of the day. The racial inequality, the anti-Semitism, the expected acceptance of a husband's infidelity as long as he "provides", the subtle sexual harassment of women in the workplace. It's disconcerting to see pregnant women with a cigarette in one hand and a glass of wine in the other...and even more so to see people who are clearly drunk getting behind the wheel of a car...but it's accurate.
Again, congrats on winning a role on such a great show. May it open many more doors for you.

Well I have just wrapped my role on Season 3 of Mad Men. I can't tell you anything about it ( you think the whereabouts of Bin Laden is a well guarded secret!!) but I can tell you that this season is as addictive as the other two. It is the first time I have even been cast on a show of which I was already such a huge fan, so I am constantly fighting being star-struck on set. The amazing thing is that it is all done on such a small budget, which just goes to prove my point that talent and class will put a shine on a nickel. Matthew Weiner has to be about the smartest writer in TV at the moment, not least because he has the self-confidence to surround himself with other smart people. Every department is inspired: from wardrobe, to sets, from props to the magnificent lighting and camera work. I am in awe of all of them and I feel it a tremendous honor and privilege to have been counted among their company. Enjoy!!

And I see that there is going to be a season 4!!!! "Sin-jin" Powell needs to make a few trips to NYC, don't you think? I do have to marvel at the "coincidence"...Saint John Powell and Saint John Lord Merridew all in one year!! What are the chances? ;o).

Way to go Charlie--I totally agree with Jo--and having lived through the 50"s and 60"s, I remember only too well pregnant women smoking and drinking and also the racial inequality--in some ways, I guess-50 years does make a great difference--in others--not so much--I got hooked on this show last season when you were on--watched the reruns over the summer-and of course, picked it up with the new season--was just hoping you'd be on again---Now ...how about a new blog to keep us on our toes--

..Very addicting. I can understand why you can't give details, love the metaphor though lol. I agree about the talent and the writer.  With you on the show, that just boost's the talent even more. Not to mention an even more handsome actor list :o). can't wait until tomorrow. (It is still slated for tomorrow, right?)..

Wow!! So much screen time in this one! Fabulous job, Charlie, and congrats to Mad Men for the Emmy win.  I love all the symbolism...the gift "snake" representing the company's "venom" and lack of care for the employees, the Jackie-O like bloody dress, the VietNam War talk just before the carnage.
Please tell me I'm not the only one here who HAD that Barbie doll??!!
