The faculty and staff of the Rock Valley College Department of Mass Communication are proud to announce that three of our students have won National Awards for media production this year.

Robert Williams who is finishing his A.A. at RVC won a Bronze Telly Award for editing and also won Second Place in the Avid Expose Yourself Contest. Mr. Williams will leave Rockford this summer to edit television programs for the Sci-Fi channel.

Lonnie Iske and Ginny Austin have also won a Bronze Telly for Music Video Production. The two met at Rock Valley College and have started a production business together, Vixen Productions. They have been doing music videos (mostly live) for local and national bands for the past two years. They chose their name to signify the female presence in a male dominated field. With Vixen Productions move to Chicago next fall, the pair hopes to broaden their client base.

The Telly Awards honor excellence in professional media production. Avid is the world leader in non-linear editing systems.
