hey there...it NEVER ceases to amaze me that people actually LOOK at this blog..so thanks for caring, because you must, or might, 'cause you're here...there've been nearly 3000 peeks at it through the 3+ years this has been up...so like 1000 per year, that's almost a few per day! seriously cool...now, are you showing up at the Hoot?
<<...guilt induction...>>
ps, before I forget, right now I'm listening to this new band called "Furthur" . . . .I'd say y'oughta chek-em-out....maybe start here, where I'm listening, it's a very cool stream:
http://www.archive.org/details/furthur2009-09-18.marix.flac16so yeah, as Bobby sings Lost Sailor, I'm just thinkin ahead to this Sunday (talk about
lost), wondering if the weather will hold out like it has I think the last three years...that's right--we've hooted outside in November like the last two or three times...how rockin' is that? in Minnesota?? November? outdoors? playing music? for like a few HOURS?
yes. . . . it's what we do..
and we be having a gud time, yo.. each time (in its own way and time) . . . .like in November, the fire be burnin, people be huddlin... in the safety of our West Bank niche. . . and maybe you "get" that, and you'll show up. and maybe we (each and every freeking one of us) will be able to do just that this Sunday, 11/1, at the same time, at the same place..and if the weather doesn't cooperate we just take it inside, where the Nomad-crew cheerfully put up with our alternating cacophony/beauty . . . . . .
so, ummm.... cool... and yeah, it's gettin on towards winter, and here on the West Bank, Mpls that means the Battle of the Jugbands...ya get my drift? maybe thinkin..ya know?...re-enter? it's such a sweet time...it's always the 2nd Sunday in Feb....we did it back in like '05 and 'twas funnn, 'cause then we hit the Nomad for a later-night Hoot...and as I think about that, that'd be cool to do this year (as would a jam in The Joint, really...wow...what a break in tradition!) anyway, if you're interested, email me: jimbojones59@hotmail.com...we could play a set at the Cabooze..(always a treat, but only if the lottery would allow it) and we could hand out business-card-size fliers informing cool folks about the later hootenanny at The Nomad...and keep the party poppin, yo!
blah, blah...yeah, somewheres in here I get tired, knowing you've been tired a LONG while, of yappin..
but hey: 8^]
now as I listen to Furthur, I'm hearing John sing Althea...I mean, that's pretty freekin cool...nice ascendancy, John!
