Malignant neoplasm. You know what it is. It kills, and it's everywhere. Every single person you know has somehow been affected by it, and if not, they will.
I certainly have, slowly, unnoticably... until it killed a close friend of mine.
Cancer is everywhere. That never hit me until I counted. Four people I know have suffered from this horrible disease.
One had it successfully removed with no apparent lingering traces.
One had it taken out of the bone of his leg, significantly thinning it and cutting down his normal height.
One has been taking chemotherapy sessions and has lost all of her hair. She's taking it well, and was Voldemort for Halloween.
And the final one was taken from us by it a couple weeks ago after years of much pain and suffering.
It changes people. It takes over their life, giving them a unique paradigm shift where life and death are all of a sudden too close. Right or left? Give in or fight?
Most receive much strength from experiencing it.
Personally, I'm sick of it. It's caused too much grief for those around me. Alex's family doesn't deserve such a loss. Nobody does.
Nothing is as real as cancer. Not global warming, all those eco-whiners that the earth is dying... if there's any battle that needs to be faught, it's this one.
Do your part now. Find a cancer foundation and donate. Hell, at least let other people know about it. Make A Wish, 11:11 AM, Dear Jack Foundation... they're all over.
Please help fight it. You have no idea the lives you will brighten.

"I will crawl.
There's things that aren't worth giving up, I know
But I won't let this get me.
I will fight.
You live the life you're given with the storms outside."
