Why is it that the potential energy behind my motivation to get my boat all pimped out and go fishing is greatest at this particular time of the year- that's when the ice is just starting to form and I'll be land-locked for the next 3 to four months? Go figure. I am really excited though. I'll be out on that river about half way through March. I want to be able to target every spring-spawn species this year. It really is under-rated, but the sheepshead (drum) spawn is one of my favorite times of the year. It's where you catch fish ranging from 3 to 25 pounds on light tackle on just about every cast. I'm going to Northwoods with the family this afternoon (yeah, had to take the second half of the day off sick.) It's nice when you can set off to do your own Christmas shopping knowing fully well that you'll DEFINITELY GET what you want!!
