It's that time of the year again...

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?

-So many new things. Here are some of them.

A. I used alcohol.

B. I went on a date.

C. I made really bad grades in a class that was not math.

D. I became seriously addicted to coffee. My new record is seven cups in one day. Before this semester, it was four.

E. I fasted. It lasted about 40 hours.

F. I got a job.

G. I made out with people. Three guys and a girl.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

-I didn't make any. I take each month as it comes.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

-No one really that close.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

-No.

5. What countries did you visit?

-My own.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?

-A better perspective, more mental energy.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

-September 3.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

-Coming out of the closet (on September 3).

9. What was your biggest failure?

-Not doing well in school because I was too preoccupied with something else.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

-A psychological preoccupation that made me unable to focus on schoolwork, and caffeine addiction.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

-A lot of books, a DVD burner, and maybe the PhotoReading course.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

-I don't really know.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

-I would rather not focus on that.

14. Where did most of your money go?

-Books. So very many of them.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

-Going back to school (which turned out to be a royal disaster, but worth it nonetheless).

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?

-I heard more music this year than almost any other year.

January: 'Safe Passage' by David Arkenstone.

February: 'Stars and Boulevards' by Augustana.

March: 'Here We Are' by Breaking Benjamin.

April: 'This Pain' by Kamelot.

May: 'It's Beginning to Get to Me' by Snow Patrol.

June: 'By the Way' by Hinder.

July: 'Open your Eyes' by Stream of Passion.

August: 'The Runaways' by Anberlin.

September: 'No Roads Left' by Linkin Park.

October: 'Through the Years' by The Crash Motive.

November: 'No More, No Less' by Collective Soul.

December: We don't know yet.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

I. happier or sadder?

-More distressed, but also closer to achieving inner peace.

ii. thinner or fatter?

-About the same.

iii. richer or poorer?

-A little richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

-Going to the gym, studying, fasting, facing fears and doubts instead of stuffing them down. Basically, just being healthier instead of brooding about the futility of life.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

-Drinking coffee, worrying, being a perfectionist.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

-With family in Cleveland.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?

-Not really.

23. Are you still in love now?

-See above ^.

24. How many one-night stands?

-None. I didn't get quite that drunk.

25. What was your favorite TV program?

-Family Guy. lol

26. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

-I don't hate. Ever. I don't have the energy.

27. What was the best book you read?

-I read SO many books this year, but the best was definitely Goethe's 'Faust'.

28. What was your greatest musical discovery?

-Kamelot's 'Epica' and 'The Black Halo'. I had heard them before but I just really 'got' them this year.

29. What did you want and get?

-A job, better friendships, a school I will probably actually stay at.

30. What did you want and not get?

-Inner peace.

31. What was your favorite film of this year?

-The only 2007 movie I remember seeing was Beowulf, and it was okay. Otherwise, the best movies I saw for the first time were Fight Club, Running With Scissors, and the sequels to Pirates of the Carribean. I also watched a lot of horror movies, something I've never really done before. The one that truly scared the hell out of me was The Ring.

32. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

-I was 19. I don't really remember much from the day.

33. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

-Better understanding of the inner workings of my brain.

34. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?

-Homeless.

35. What kept you sane?

-I came very close to having a nervous breakdown on several occasions. I responded horribly to things and was not emotionally stable. I think the only thing that kept me sane was that I just have a fairly stong mind that isn't prone to psychosis.

36. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

-I didn't really think about public figures very much.

37. What political issue stirred you the most?

-I started thinking more about nationalism.

38. Who did you miss?

-The old me.

39. Who was the best new person you met?

-I met too many people, sorry.

40. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:

-The life span of a yellow sun is ten billion years.

Everything else is captured in that.

41. Did you get a new job in 2007?

-Yes. I worked at Jenkins Deli for about three months.

42. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

'The Cheyenne Line' by The Ataris. This truly sums up the year. 'Becoming the Bull', by Atreyu, was my 'coming out' song.
