Tuesday, January 06, 2009
Metroschifter's first new record in more than eight years will be released in May 2009 on Noise Pollution Records from Louisville. The release marks the fifteenth anniversary of the band's first performance.

The lineup for the record is Pat McClimans on bass, Chris Reinstatler on drums, and Scott Ritcher on guitar.

It will be available as a compact disc or high-quality digital download.

If you pre-order the CD before April 9, 2009, the finished product will be personalized with your name on the cover and delivered to your home.

If you order the downloadable files, they will be delivered via the internet earlier than the CD. The files will display your name in personalized artwork when played on your iPod, iPhone, or other compatible device.

Special pricing will be available if you order multiple copies bearing the same name. Retail stores, music distributors, groups of friends, street gangs, couples, baseball teams, etc., are encouraged to order copies personalized with their group name.

The new record will go on sale at www.metroschifter.com on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at noon Eastern time.

Complete details will be available on www.metroschifter.com prior to the on-sale date. Just make sure you're near your computer on January 22 at noon so you can get your order in early, and start making space in the M's on your CD shelf.

Pretty disappointed with yestderday's eventual arrival of the CD.
Seriously cheap looking cardboard only cover. No lyrics sheet, nothing.
Plus, since there wasn't even a reasonable package to the CD I now own a CD cover with stamps and address stickers all over. The so-called "personalization" of the CD is limited to a named plastic sticker that one even needs to cut to get the cardboard open.
Looking at the fact that I apparently somewhat prefinanced that CD about half a year ago, I am really disappointed with the result of this whole action. The whole story leaves a seriously bad taste in my mouth.

Musically, so far I am not that convinced either. A lot of the stuff sounds relatively uninspired to me. Looking at all the past releases I expected a lot more. Sigh.
