These songs are just demo versions and has a lot of errors and are good examples of bad mixing, but I..m learning all the time. I have no expensive equipment or microphones at all. All the instruments are played by me, except some drums by Tore Sandbakken, some saxophone by Andrè Roligheten and singing by Ingebjør Westgaard.

"Slow Down" is an attempt of making a hit that combines punk and prog (hehe). (I still don..t think it..s possible. But had to try). I tried to keep things as straight to the point as possible, just one verse, one chorus and straight to the solo (André is the saxophonehero) another verse and endless choruses. In the end there..s a hornline that owes a lot to Ketil Einarsen..s band "Okasa" and the song "Last Words". Thomas Oxem has mixed this song. Thanks to Marianne Halmrast for lending me her bass, and Tore for playing those drums that had a lot to do with the song writing.
"Slow Down" will be released on a JAGA Family compilation record on Smalltown Supersound sometime.

"I Am So Paranoid" is an older song in a new mix. I..ve skipped a lot of the dubbed guitars, and I..ve been harder on the panning. I just got a slide for my guitar. The samples in the intro and outro are from the 70..s movie "The Warriors".

"I killed the Dog" is simply about my mom..s neighbour..s dog that barks all the time and annoys my mother and me when I visit her. I actually like dogs and animals, especially whales. This is the first song with me playing all the horns (trumpet, french horn and trombone). I couldn..t really make it and it needed a bit of tuning. The song started out as a Pearl Jam song but it didn..t end up like that. The bass is played on a synth and is NOT tight, will be replaced some day.

"Forest Fire" is a song very much influenced by Nick Drake. The measures changes between 4/4 and 5/8, but I tried to make the song sound simple anyway, with simple lyrics and calm singing. I tried to ad some psykedelia to the song with backwards guitars, a lot of rainmakers (sounding like a fire (hehe)) and spaced out flutes.

"Burned at the Stake" is new and I stole some chords from Lindisfarne, a great folk band from the seventees that I just discovered. I really don..t know what this song is about, but it consists of two stories that work together somehow. Read the lyrics. I wanted a recitative mid-section and I stole the words from Wikipedia!!! I added a lot of noise from all the horns and the Juno six and the acoustic guitar. In the end there is a singalong chorus, and you can all join in.... In the end I play my first ever guitarsolo!!!

"Clappingsong" is a kind of mix between the two Byrds songs "Everybody..s Been Burned" and "Have You Seen Her Face" (and many others), from the "Younger Than Yesterday" record. I used a lot of different clapping tracks and put them in a drum-machine. Tried to make it sound electronic. Tore is back on drums in the end. The mix is not good, but it..s the best I can do for the moment.

"Lightyears" is on Ingebjør Westgaards myspace, and it is simply a lot of voices, radionoise (AM - left channel, FM -right channel) and drumrolls. I have a lot of different versions of this song. It started out as a rubato freejazztune that I wrote for a band called (soundslashnoise), and later used in the band Big Spirit People. Then I added two verses as well, and now these verses are all that is left....
