a review...

"Skif Dank, the other band I knew on here, do the death tribute song "Daly City Train". Skif Dank were one of the first ska bands to break out of the Florida scene and just reformed in late 2002. Normally featuring a full horn section, this version is reduced to just guitar, bass, and drums with a few gang vocals for the verse. They performed this live once and like 10 people joined them onstage for it. This version is pretty loyal to Rancid's original, a catchy and melodic ska number. The upstroked opening is highlighted by a drum break similar to the steel drum accent that fans of the original go nuts over. Skif Dank changed the subject Jackal of the original in the last verse to Vinnie and Mikey, respectively, two friends of the band who had died. Unfortunately, between the recording of this track and the release of the cd, Skif Dank's version of "Daly City Train" took on a tragic new meaning. Not long after the recording of this track, Skif Dank bassist Derek "Dirt" Koppetska was hit by a car and killed. The cd is dedicated to Dirt with a picture of him in the liner notes and an "R.I.P. Dirt" on the back cover. Skif Dank are soldiering on without him but "Daly City Train" makes a sad but fitting memorial to him."

uhm, im guessing theres others that havent hit me yet.
