Did you see that your video is being promoted on Information Clearing House's website today?  Very, very cool, my friend.

"John The Revelator" - Depeche Mode:

Unofficial animated music video for Depeche Mode's latest single from their album "Playing The Angel."

This video was created only for artistic (non-commercial) purposes and without the consent of the band or the label. The visual interpretations of the song's lyrics and the views expressed in this music video are solely those of the director, a Depeche Mode fan / outraged American.

Please support the impeachment movement at [www.impeachbush.org] and also support the band by buying their single (available in iTunes).

So I sent the following letter to a bunch of newspapers around the country. Feel free to cut-and-paste anddo the same if you feel like it:
----------------------------
POLITICAL CENSORSHIP IN YOUTUBE?

By default, the internet proudly takes the place of the true only medium of uncensored communication; our last beacon of truly free speech. However, when you look at it more closely through some individual accounts, one can perceive the same influence of corporate and political interests that skews every television channel. The only difference is that, on the internet, this influence is unseen and unaccounted for --and thus, dishonest.
Take my case as an example: I made a politically-charged animated music video to a song by Depeche Mode --my favorite band since high school. The song relates to the biblical character of John the Revelator, and in my video I personified that character with the image of George W. Bush in a very caustic way. I made this animation without the consent of the band or label, and only as a non-commercial vessel of artistic expression. So my intention from the beginning was to broadcast it on YouTube. I just wanted it to be seen.
On the first day, the video received almost a thousand hits --and great reviews ever since. On the second day, five thousand. On the third, almost twenty. Then, suddenly, this exponential growth stopped on the fourth day and found itself on a plateau around thirty thousand. It continued growing, but at an unexplainably slower rate. Adding to this strange mathematical behavior, the video could not be found through YouTubeâs search engine by its tags --words related to the videoâlike âdepecheâ or âbush.â This made the video really hard to find if you didnât have a direct link to it. My complaints to YouTubeâs customer service went ignored for a whole week.
Granted, both of these âsystem errorsâ could be seen as coincidences. After all, the system is not perfect and it sometimes fails. But if this is the case, then the system should fail equally to everybody. Thatâs what makes the third âsystem errorâ a bit harder to justify:
In the comment section of the video there is a heated interchange happening between pro-Bushers and Bush-bashers. Nearly half of the comments I write âcritizing the president and his administration-- are being ignored by YouTube and are not being posted. Sometimes, the system just blocks me. Other people who post similar comments have written me e-mails describing the same exact problem. Yet, strangely, the comments posted by Bush supporters appear untouched. If you follow the comment chain, it is obvious that only one side of the discussion is being silenced. This biased manipulation logically cannot be explained as a system failure. It just sends chills down my spine to think the unthinkable: That YouTube has a bunch of people hidden in a room somewhere, screening and filtering every comment that you post, like they do in Chinese websites.
This case makes me wonder if the internet really is Americaâs last hope for uncensored speech, or if this notion is just a utopic ideal that we WANT to believe.

I was listening to Bush's speech this afternoon, and it seemed to me very obvious that the invasion of Iran has already begun. Or, at least, the wheels have started turning. That's the way it works in any Ameriacn war (lies-fear-attack) but looking more specifically at a single example, let's look at how the war in Iraq started:
First, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11. Let's remind everyone how painful 9-11 was and how scared everyone should be about terrorism. Let's use a national tragedy as a political weapon. Ok. Everyone shitting in their pants already? Good.
Now, let's magically connect 9-11 with our next target. Iraq. Let's say that... uh... Al-Qaeda is friends with Saddam Hussein, who has WMD (and we KNOW he has them because WE sold them to him), and let's say he MIGHT use them against us. We'll call it a "preemptive strike." No, we can't say we're "invading" the country... So we'll be "liberating" it!
Does that sound like a plan?

And apparently, it is a good plan because it worked. Everybody bought it, even Democrats voted for the war.

Now the same process has started for Iran. Today he reminded us of 9-11 and of all the "bad folks" out there trying to hurt us. Only now, he referred to them as "Sunni extremists":

"These al Qaeda terrorists and those who share their ideology are violent Sunni extremists."

Then he continued:

"They're driven by a radical and perverted vision of Islam that rejects tolerance, crushes all dissent, and justifies the murder of innocent men, women and children in the pursuit of political power."

Funny. If you replace "Islam" with "Christianity" in the previous sentence, this quote applies to Bush and his administration as well.
Anyway, later in his speech, Bush declares:

"As we continue to fight al Qaeda and these Sunni extremists inspired by their radical ideology, we also face the threat posed by Shia extremists..."

...here we go...

"...who are learning from al Qaeda, increasing their assertiveness, and stepping up their threats [...] This Shia strain of Islamic radicalism is just as dangerous, and just as hostile to America, and just as determined to establish its brand of hegemony across the broader Middle East. And the Shia extremists have achieved something that al Qaeda has so far failed to do: In 1979, they took control of a major power, the nation of Iran."
--Bingo!--

"Like al Qaeda and the Sunni extremists, the Iranian regime has clear aims: They want to drive America out of the region, to destroy Israel, and to dominate the broader Middle East. To achieve these aims, they are funding and arming terrorist groups like Hezbollah, which allow them to attack Israel and America by proxy. Hezbollah, the source of the current instability in Lebanon, has killed more Americans than any terrorist organization except al Qaeda."

--Wow! They're almost as bad as al-Qaeda!--

"Just as we must take the words of the Sunni extremists seriously, we must take the words of the Shia extremists seriously. Listen to the words of Hezbollah's leader, the terrorist Nasrallah, who has declared his hatred of America. He says, "Let the entire world hear me. Our hostility to the Great Satan [America] is absolute⦠Regardless of how the world has changed after 11 September, Death to America will remain our reverberating and powerful slogan: Death to America."
OK. Now I shat my pants.
It's funny how the Qaeda-Iraq connection is repeated here with Hezbollah-Iran.
And yes, I agree Iran DOES sponsor Hezbollah, but the nation of Iran cannot be held responsible for Hezbolla's actions, just like the United States of America cannot be held responsible for the actions of Israel. It's just a prefabricated connection to turn the American people's psyche against Iran.

So, Mr. President, the number one rule in showbiz is "surprise your audience." Your speech today was very predictable. You should get better writers.

The following is an excerpt from today's New York Times:

----------------------------

9/11 Miniseries Is Criticized as Inaccurate and Biased

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 5 â Days before its scheduled debut, the first major television miniseries about the Sept. 11 attacks was being criticized on Tuesday as biased and inaccurate by bloggers, terrorism experts and a member of the Sept. 11 commission, whose report makes up much of the filmâs source material.

The six-hour miniseries, âThe Path to 9/11,â is to be shown on ABC on Sunday and Monday. The network has been advertising the program as a âhistoric broadcastâ that uses the commissionâs report on the 2001 attacks as its âprimary foundation.â

On Tuesday, several liberal blogs were questioning whether ABCâs version was overly critical of the Clinton administration while letting the Bush administration off easy.

In particular, some critics â including Richard A. Clarke, the former counterterrorism czar â questioned a scene that depicts several American military officers on the ground in Afghanistan. In it, the officers, working with leaders of the Northern Alliance, the Afghan rebel group, move in to capture Osama bin Laden, only to allow him to escape after the mission is canceled by Clinton officials in Washington.

In a posting on ThinkProgress.org, and in a phone interview, Mr. Clarke said no military personnel or C.I.A. agents were ever in position to capture Mr. bin Laden in Afghanistan, nor did the leader of the Northern Alliance get that near to his camp.

âIt didnât happen,â Mr. Clarke said. âThere were no troops in Afghanistan about to snatch bin Laden. There were no C.I.A. personnel about to snatch bin Laden. Itâs utterly invented.â

This is another example of how the American public is being brainwashed and history is being rewritten.

Maybe then someone on the outside would wake up enough to stand up to them and take them down. gods know We are trying. But, with all those writs bush wrote & tacked on whats left of the Constitution..they never need answer to any law in this country.  Sol! NJB
