Dear Fellow Truth Seekers,

The Sabbath is and has always been from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. Nowhere in the Bible is Sunday called the Sabbath. However, this is also an important passage in my understanding of the Sabbath:

"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."
--Colossians 2:16-17 (NIV)

Some say the Sabbath is Sunday. Others say the Sabbath is Saturday. I say the Sabbath is Jesus. He even called himself "Lord of the Sabbath" (Luke 6:5) when others were criticizing him on how his disciples failed to observe the Sabbath properly, according to them and their traditions.

Love,

Simon Beck
