Haven't fact checked any of this. But it's wild to think about.

Interesting viewpoint! Sad to think that might be true.

Poor Man's Guru

Someone sent this to me in an email, and among the many forwards someone has written "this is pretty scary!" I would ask "why?", but Shana may have hit the nail on the head.

Frighteningly interesting, though it does seem like they chose to over exaggerate a tad bit. Like the top ten jobs in demand didn't exist in '04.

I am guess that actually means new positions at newer or expanding firms. Not new types of jobs being created.

Either way, I would think that this would be a good thing that there would be new jobs seeking employees.

Plus I don't think that the double of hardware's abilities actually renders someone's education invalid.

I am pretty sure that even if I went to a vacuum for ten years, my non formally PC trained self, would still be able to figure out how to use a new machine pretty quickly if not immediately.

And I would assume that engineers and coders would be able to do the same with there more in depth use.

I felt like they wanted the viewer to be fearful of the future, and if anything it gave me hope for new opportunities. I wonder how much more interesting this clip could have been if they had set out to prove an optimistic view.

I've never seen a clip of "the future" that isn't fear provoking, nor have I ever seen a clip from "the past" that isn't suppose to invoke emotions of great loss.

Fact-check? The previous didn't seem feel that "facts" are important -- why should we?

1st of all....if we are in exponnential times now, we were in exponnential times back in shakespeare's day....2 squared is only 4 even if 2 to the power of 28 is ginormous...the power of 2 is an exponent too. 2nd....one word: asymptote...word on the street is you never get there.

But very thought provoking, good clip.
