What, no Doobie Brothers? :)

Here are mine, in alphabetical order [by band, because of my OCD]:

David Bowie: Diamond Dogs. Anything Bowie inspires me, really. But this record, should you be lucky enough to own the original pressing, is worth $2000. And that's pretty inspiring in itself. It also marks the end of the Ziggy era and the beginning of a new one for that schizophrenic man whom I love so much.

The Clash: London Calling. Anyone who says this is not the best Clash album ever is an idiot. "Spanish Bombs" and "Guns of Brixton" alone are two of the best songs they've ever recorded.

Creedence Clearwater Revival: Cosmo's Factory. Maybe this is more for the memories than anything. My dad and I listened to this record a lot, and I always loved the last song, "Long as I Can See the Light" - it's so morose but still so full of hope. And, there's a Bo Diddley cover on it ["Before You Accuse Me" for those who may not know.] I still maintain Fogerty one of the best musicians of all time.

The Cure: Disintegration - because it has "Pictures of You" on it, which I maintain is one of the saddest songs ever. Although I prefer the live version of that song, so maybe I should have said The Cure: Show. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Tom Waits: Rain Dogs. My favorite, perhaps because of all the massive amounts of instruments used on it, including the marimba, which I've always been fascinated with. This album goes all over the place but still works so well.
