Dude i know you heart is in the right place but please read.

The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education (GIVE) Act. 321 representatives of the people voted approval for this legislation which, among many other things, strikes a blow to the rights of people to mount any protests against legislation. Listen closely, it outlaws the right to mount protests against proposed legislation.

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

(1) Attempting to influence legislation.
(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.
(3) Assisting, promoting, or deterring union organizing.
(4) Impairing existing contracts for services or collective bargaining agreements.
(5) Engaging in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the outcome of an election to any public office.
(6) Participating in, or endorsing, events or activities that are likely to include advocacy for or against political parties, political platforms, political candidates, proposed legislation, or elected officials.

You are doing such a wonderful thing. I am definitely participating once I get back up North. I  Just moved to Jersey, but want to volunteer in NYC, in my old neighborhood. Hopefully at some after school centers or whatever. I want to volunteer my time helping children. Its alot more meaningful for me to volunteer back in the old neighborhood. Thanks A+K, ur the best!!!!

I volunteered to be apart of the planning committee for a federal function for the National Native American & Alaskan Heritage Observance. I am also a contractor for the agency. I was given a moment of honor and appreciation and asked if I would give opening remarks. I accepted. My fed mgr told me that - the perception of a contractor introducing a member of the federal mgmt council is not one they want to give. I asked what about me as a Indian? I got the same answer. Fed mgr asked if I about my time spent.I said I volunteered. The fed employee, chair verified that I did volunteer. Fed Mgr said the ofc of civil rights made decision. I asked him and he sent an email reporting he did not. I sent a letter to Pres.Obama, Lisa Jackson and Craig Hooks asking for someone to talk to me. I was escort from the federal facility Friday, nov 13. Today I will find out why I was escorted from the facility. I have no idea. I did find that if I threaten anyone - I reread my email, no threats were made.
I questions why as a Native American volunteer I cannot participate.=. The planning chair sent and email. I am happy that a door is open for the local Indian community. I hope it stays open.
I just don't understand.
