Miss Indigo Blue’s Academy of Burlesque presents…
Hot Summer Burlesque 101 Student Graduation Recital
August 8 at West Hall, Oddfellows Building
On the evening of August 8, a brand new crop of naughty students from Miss Indigo Blue’s Academy of Burlesque are ready to amuse, tease and titillate with a hot summer Tassel Ceremony unlike any other. Past graduates of Miss Indigo’s tutelage include The Von Foxies, Waxie Moon, and Academy Instructor Shanghai Pearl. As seen in the film “A Wink And A Smile” and on KING5-TV Evening Magazine, the Academy of Burlesque specializes in helping budding burlesque divas of all ages and abilities get their start.
This summer’s Academy is hotter than too much cleavage in a push up bra. The student Recital will commence at 7:00 (with a reprise at 9:00) in West Hall, with food and beverage service from The Tin Table. Tickets are $10 when purchased from any student, $12 at BrownPaperTickets.com, and $15 at the door. Attendees are encouraged to bring confetti and flowers for their favorite students. As is our custom, we will raffle off prizes including tickets to upcoming shows, previously-worn undergarments, and other authentic Burlesque Memorabilia.
This show is the preview of the Academy of Burlesque’s move to West Hall on Sept 1, and The Oddfellows Building’s debut as a Burlesque Theater. In addition to the nine novice ecdysiasts, the current Bump and Grind class will also show off their assets in a dance choreographed by Inga Ingenue, Ruby Mimosa, and Miss Indigo Blue.
Hosting the show is Miss Indigo Blue, the Headmistress of The Academy of Burlesque, member of the Atomic Bombshells, and star of the film “A Wink And A Smile”. Nicknamed “The Chosen Chosen,” she was selected in Heeb 100’s Young Jews to Watch in 2008. The Headmistress honed her performance skills in 8 years with The Fallen Women Follies, Seattle’s original erotic performance cabaret, and has since delighted sold-out audiences in Seattle and across the world.
