"Does sunset sometimes look like it is coming up? Do you know what a faithful love is like? You're crying. You say you have burned yourself. But can you think of anyone who's not hazy with smoke?"~Rumi~
I remember that night I watched the sunset across the street and thinking that it literally looked like a hole in the sky that you could step through, and I wondered in my dreamy Aquarian state if there somehow was a way and we stupid humans were just not paying attention:DI know you recognize the mango sunset from a much earlier work that I wrote...and it is funny to me that I wrote that old poem long before I ever really witnessed a sunset like that that I have seen here and in other countries outside the states. (Like how I said "other countries"???...LOL)I like what you said that "even the sky is no limit for those with faith"...that was beautiful. There is not so much mystery or layers in this piece that are not obvious to the eye...then again, we all know that my vision can be ecclectic. The greatest point for me was the lines "I mused that even the sun both rises and decends, and is no less glorious in each" and this for me was talking about how as humans we rise and fall, triumph and defeat, and abundance and decline as you call it. It is indeed natural, and can be quite beautiful in either state depending on how we look at or embrace our journey...and it is that perspective when we are falling that allows us to rise more gloriously again and again.No...I am no longer mysterious dearest Shisa;) Thank you for sharing all the beauty that we together see.
It sure is hot here...glad to share some of it with you~
That sounds beautiful. I bet there are a ton of places in Okinawa where you could do this. The whole island is all coral rocks and ledges in abstract formations like nothing I have ever seen...Good to see you Fee. Thank you for stopping by~Namaste~
I wish I could take entire credit for "Coconut Moon"...Story: Every night my husband, son and I walk along the sea wall after dinner. At the end of our walk there is a beach bar/ resteraunt named Coconut Moon. I absolutely LOVED this name and said that I needed to incorporate it into a poem. I can see that it evokes the same reaction in verse, which is pleasing:) And though I was more referencing the actual moon here in Okinawa, now you know that it is also an actual place.I would love for you to look into the setting sun now as a grown man and tell me what you see...perhaps it would inspire a poem yourself. If so, please do let me know...Thank you so much BrianNamaste~
