Well, not really... but right now I've committed myself to so many cool and interesting projects that I need some time to get all the work done !

I've been doing artworks for bands constantly ever since 1993 now, but I still remember the many years that I was drawing just for myself. Only my parents and some friends knew about my passion and the many hours that I spent by myself at the drawing table... Not because I had such high ambitions, but mainly simply because I liked to draw. There's nothing better than to create your own worlds in which to immerse yourself...

So, although it was never really my intention, some good friends convinced me that my work was good enough to go public with it. At first it resulted in the release of a comic book ( thanks to Filip Keunen ) and later I got the opportunity to do an album cover ( thanks to Wim Baelus ). The latter job resulted into even more covers and the rest is history I guess.

Back in those early days I never would have guessed that I would one day be named a "famous" or "succesful" CD cover artist. In those days I didn't think anyone would be interested in using my artwork for anything. So it's pretty cool that so many people are writing me today to work for them !

However, each time when I work on a painting, I should have enough time to totally immerse myself into the mood of the music, lyrics, etc... in order to be able to create the best cover possible. Unfortunately deadlines are sometimes so tight these days that this is becoming nearly impossible. I guess my personal record was painting the latest Vital Remains album cover in only three evenings. Needless to say that this requires lots of energy and leaves one completely spent afterwards...

So here I've reached the heart of the matter : I won't be able to accept any new assignments for a while. I'll need at least six months to get all the work done on my waiting list. If you've been in contact with me about artwork, then you're probably already on the list, so there's no problem and I will complete the work as promised. As much as I hate to disappoint anyone who would have wanted a cover by my hand, I also need to think of the many projects that I've committed myself to. There are some pretty exciting things in store. A few that come to mind right away are the new Absu cover, a DVD cover for Arkona, covers for Ravenage, Folkodia, Wolfchant, Geryon, Moonroot, Ceremonial Castings, etc... I'm also involved in a very cool project with SuidAkrA, which is taking me beyond the usual artwork job ! If I forgot to mention anyone, please don't panic ! Just send me a reminder; I will complete all projects that I've already accepted. Also, if anyone wants to write me, please don't hesitate. I'll answer as soon as I can. Just be aware that I won't have time for any urgent work. There will be a waiting period of at least six months...

Finally, I want to thank all the people who have added me as their friend here on myspace ! As much as I would like to write a personal reply to each and every one of you, I simply don't always have the time for it. But do know that your add and friendship is much appreciated !

So now that all is said and done, it's back to the drawing table for me !
