Listen, between you & me: this CD of mine that Scissorpress is putting out is a trial run for my next book...so if i can't sell 200 of these fuckers by April...there won't be any more books, cuz i sure as shit can't afford to publish them myself. And now, after being scrubbed by Crimethinc for not selling enough books...i'm starting to wonder if i should even bother. The upshot of all this is I need your help in spreading the word and trying to get as many people as possible to buy this damned thing...in order to convince the heroic fellows at Scissorpress to become my new publishers; now, i know my stuff isn't going to change the world; but dammnit, its all i have--and you seem like one of the few remaining people who would even care to see a new Raegan Butcher book in the future. So, this is it! Help me move some units…it's a shitty fact of existence in this rotten system…but I need this foothold to survive. Not that I even get money from these CD's—not even from my books—but to me having my books out there gives me hope, and if I lose hope. Well, shit. You know…
Thanks...Butch
I had the pleasure of meeting Butch a couple of years ago. Over the years we have exchanged music, stories, film ideas, and poetry. The other day I received the above e-mail from him. All of you who support independent music, writing, and like decent punk rock check out the Raegan Butcher album Pale & Skinny: 1986-1992 at
