Current mood: crazy/sexy/cool Category: Pets and Animals
So we've been in the studio for a solid month and a
half now, thought we would write up a little "blog"
for all of you to read and hear the progress of the
album thus far. This week we actually haven't been
recording, we are preparing to leave for the 2009
Guttermouth "Snow Tour" through Colorado, Utah,
Nevada, Idaho, and Northern California. (You can
check out the tour dates and locations on our page)
So as many of you may know by now, we had very
high expectations for this album. The songs on this
album mean a great deal to us, but at the same time
we have put a lot of thought into the theme and
mood of the lyrics and tried our very best to
capture the emotions through the use of our music.
Now that we're getting close to wrapping up the
final parts, we can say even our highest
expectations were outdone.
As we leave for our Guttermouth tour, we will be
dissecting the new material and putting all the final
pieces together. I can assure every single person
reading this that you will all be speechless at how
much we have progressed as both a band as
people. We're taking this album much more
seriously than not only our last album "Numb
America", but more seriously than anything we
have ever done together as a band.
We would especially like to thank Erik Guiterrez,
Tyler Malone, and Dillon Mohawk-Sandwich for
their participation in our album contest. For those
of you that didn't see or participate, we offered 3
guest vocalist spots to the 3 people that referred
the most friends to our. For everyone that helped,
we saw the numbers and were grateful for every
single one of you that put forth the effort, even
those of you in different countries and opposite
coasts that were doing it solely for the purpose of
helping us get our name out. The good news is:
You will get to hear Erik, Tyler, and Dillon all sing
on the album. (Don't worry they actually all had
good voices, thankfully.)
We have had some of our guests come do some
surprise cameos, so thanks to those of you that
have come and helped us create something even
more special. (I won't announce just who our
special guests are, but you know who you are: so
thank you)
As of now, all the drums, guitars, bass, and the
majority of the lead and backup and group vocals
are done. We have a little more editing to do once
we get back home and put the final touches on the
album before mixing and mastering and then we
will be done! Though there is no release date yet,
you can expect it out by summer 2009. And, yes,
there is a title.
So thanks to all of you that have been writing and
wishing us the best of luck while we've been in the
studio. Believe it or not, it actually really helps
keep us motivated and remember who this album
really is for. We know a lot of you are looking
forward to this one, and I'm honored to say that it
will not dissappoint. Keep the messages coming,
we love to hear you are all as excited as we are for
the new cd.
For those of you coming to any of our shows on
this next tour, you will get to hear some brand new
ones, so pay attention. Also, if you get lucky and
catch us in the right mood, we may just give you a
sneak peak of the actual album (still unfinished,
mind you) considering we will have a copy of it in
the van with us the entire time. You might just get
to catch a new song or two. In case you were
wondering, the best way to bribe us is with beer
and/or alcohol.
See you on the road, and make sure to keep in touch!
