Peace be with you dear friends,

I too, like the rest of the world, was quite shocked to hear of the death of singer and songwriter, Micheal Jackson. During the 80's and 90's, my young days are filled with memories of his songs and performances and no doubt, he has influenced me in various ways, especially with the intensity of his tremendous talent. I think what strikes me most was his vocal ability in terms of range, expression, emotion and unique tone.

"To our Lord do we belong and to Him is our return".

The reason I bring all this up is merely because since before his death and quite amplified now after, I have been inundated with e-mails and calls from people, organisations and the media asking me to clarify whether a song called "Give Thanks to Allah" was sung by Micheal Jackson or myself. This rumour started a while ago and has been circulating on the internet ever since.

So, to clarify, Micheal Jackson never sang this song. I wrote and recorded "Give Thanks to Allah" as a simple childrens song many years ago and it has been released on various independant albums since.

Sincerely,

Zain Bhikha

Thank you for this calrification. I have been telling all who hear this song that it is YOU singing and NOT Mr. Jackson . The song "Give Thanks to Allah" is one of my very favorite songs . I really enjoy your Nasheeds . You Music has such emotional tones that you can tell you mean every word you sing . Thanks for the beautiful Music . May Allah always Bless you with the best of the best for your efforts to spread the truth about Islam . As a new Muslima Nasheeds are all I listen to any more . The music I used to listen to has no meaning to me any more as almost all songs talk about premarital sex and drugs and drinking . Keep up the good works !

Thank You Brother I AM A FAN OF YOURS and I told some brothers that they might be confusing Micheal Jackson with Brother Zain. Because of the high pitch pleasantness of your voice if you don't listen to Islamic music you could be fooled. But to me and listening to M.J. all my life you and him do not sound the same, Your distinction and easiness is more consistant were as M.J. would change up octaves and go from almost screaming to alot of voice adlibs. Thank you for the time of clarifing this mix up and may Allah continue to bless you and your family.

I do feel sorry about Michael Jackson's death.
It has became a rumour here that "Give Thanks to Allah" is Jacko's song. But I'm so glad that you've made a clarification about it in a news program here by phone. Now, more people here know about your songs and they love your nasheeds. Keep such a good work on your music! May Allah bless you and your family...
Wassalamu'alaykum
