What was the very first record that you were the proud owner of?
(1971 - "20 Solid Hits" an Australian varioius artists TV promotional LP) Do you still have it somewhere in your collection?
(Yes) Or was it something you'd rather hide behind the wardrobe and hope nobody finds out about?

(I DID buy stuff by the Partridge Family / Bay City Rollers / Simon & Garfunkel etc. but they all belong amongst my memories of growing up and I'm PROUD OF IT .... (hahaha) ) That's me - anyone else care to add their "oldest memories", be my guest ....

Besides those 'Little Golden Records' for kiddies, my first records that I can recall were The Four Seasons "Toy Soldier" b/w "Betrayed", Peter & Gordon's "To Know You Is To Love You" b/w "I Told You So." Also, I still remember playing The Monkees' "D.W. Washburn" b/w "It's Nice To Be With You" on my Mickey Mouse record player. My first album may have been The Temptations' "With A Lot O' Soul." I'm so proud of those records that I now have them on CD, except for the Peter & Gordon ones. I'd buy the CD, but it's a bit pricey.

The first album (33 1/3 rpm Lp) was " Get Ready " by Rare Earth. With the 21 1/2 minute uncut version of the title track. Released in 1968 (I was a "Teen" at the time).
