Sorry if this sounds a bit morbid, but hey, that's life. What song do you want played at your funeral? Here's my choice: "Eden Blues" or "Les Neiges De Finlande" by Edith Piaf Please feel free anyone to add yours.

Wow, you really did it! I'm proud to be the first future corpse to respond to this. My selection would be "Time" by The Alan Parsons Project. The Beatles' "In My Life" and "Let It Be" would also be among the songs played for the festive occasion. Stevie Wonder's version of "Ave Maria" would be nice, followed by George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord." Hare Krishna!

Top stuff, Frank. "Let it be" seems to be popular here too. Another one just came to mind, "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" - Monty Python.

Perfect! I love Monty Python! That would certainly put the FUN back in FUNeral! I was taking a walk this morning, thinking about the topic. I think I'd like Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World" played, too. I had tears in my eyes just thinking about it.

Good idea. And another, "Morningtown Ride" by the Seekers. Or "Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye" (the war time song by Gracie Fields). I'll have to re-run my funeral a few times so I can fit them all in.....

I just remembered another one... on the CD and DVD "Concert For George", a guy named Joe Brown sings "I'll See You In My Dreams." Beautiful song. I first heard Jimmy Durante sing that one. I think that would be a fitting song for any funeral.

An old-time classic. Joe Brown (a popular recording star in the UK early 1960s) is the father of Sam Brown (she had a big hit in 1988 called "Stop").

Thanx for that Mark. That reminds me of another one: "The Eternal" by Joy Division

Probably;

Time = Pink Floyd

Tears in Heaven = Eric Clapton

or Funeral for a friend = Elton John

Anything that I like (or liked) that my friends really hate. I'll probably have an hour of MY music burned on CDs so everyone in the service will have to sit in silence (for once) and bloody well put up with it.   For years I've had to put with their lousy taste in music.  Damn it I'll have the last word.

Right on! Sounds fair enough, I guess....

I just had another idea - maybe organise a DJ to be there and take requests?

Its not morbid, just thinking about what your favorites are.

OT - but I recently picked up some Burial Insurance  (thats on the stranger side I know)  - and went looking for what I wanted in a burial, clothes, music, place, etc..  Its kind of like planning a wedding.

Anyways, tunes I would pick
- Here comes the Sun - Beatles
- 'with or without you' by U2
- Some strange music from japan or india that no one can understand :)
