I could think of a thousand and one ways to spend my birthday...

If money were no object, a cruise around the world with the finest handmade truffles, made from single tree 70% cacao, a feast of seafood and a surfeit of choice wines...with Brad Pitt and George Clooney making with the funny at my right and left...and I guess throw my family and nearest and dearest in there somewhere and all would be right in my world.

Barring that, mayhap a feast at home with my family and a great movie on the tube would also work for me. 

But in my wildest dreams I have never had a birthday like I had this year.  It found me completely numb and a high as a kite, then in excruciating pain the likes I haven't seen since birthing a child or two...and I wish I could say it was from a grand fete where I imbibed too much grape!  No, this year my birthday found me lounging not on a deck chair, but a dentists' chair, extracting all four of my wisdom teeth.

At least he gave me a good present..a scrip for Vicodin and a couple  of days off.
