Category: Writing and Poetry
Well, I finally recieved an answer from Sourcebooks, after 8 months I got what is a form rejection saying she enjoyed what she read and hopes I find the correct publisher quickly. Etc.  So basically form rejection.  On the bright side this leaves me open to do some revisions on the first 3 chapters and start subbing it out to other places.  I am upset (dissapointed, but you know this is part of the whole writing game.) What really sucks is the fact that I haven’t even looked at subbing this anywhere else for a long time.  SO on to other things.

So sorry to hear that, Karan!
I know, its sucks to wait for so long on a piece we believe is so right and then have them reject it without even a few nuggets of suggestions. Keep the faith! You're right, this is all part of the process. The wasted time is the worst part, I think. I mean, why for petes sake, does it take someone so long to get back to the author?
Cheers,
Tereasa

Karen don't give up. My friend Jessica Trapp said that on her first novel, she sent it to everyone she could think of and waited to see what would happen. I think of the saying....now how does it go...don't put all your eggs in one basket. As you said revise the first 3 chapters. I am sure the crit group will help you, I will also and then send to any publisher that you ever thought was worthy reading your story.
