Ive decided im a MUCH bigger fan of music DVDs of bands i like rather than going to the concert, and Ive put together a list of reasons why.
Cheaper.
Easier.
I can actually SEE them up close.
I can watch it whenever i want.
As loud as I want.
As many times as I want.
Wearing whatever I want.
I can pick which songs I hear and in what order.
I can pause during a song or switch songs at any time.
I can sit or stand or lie down and I have room to dance if I want to.

I would like to LOVE going to concerts. I still get excited if an artist I love comes to Perth. The problem is balancing that with enough motivation to spend $100 for a few hours of watching mainly the back of other peoples heads, on my tip toes, which by the end of the night are in agony, along with my neck, shoulders, back & legs which have been in a state of constant tension for the entire duration of the concert. Plus theres the people pushing through the crowd to get a better view, the cramped conditions which make it virtually impossible to dance, and the inflated prices of drinks which last about 3 seconds before you need another, but you cant go back coz it would take 3 songs to navigate through the crowd anyway.
Lucky for me there arent too many bands Id care to see anyway. Being a fan of commercial music means I dont know that many songs from any one artist. I only know the songs that get played on the radio, so why would I fork out a bunch of clams to hear 15 songs I dont know and only 3 that I do?
I love Crowded House and Im still not gonna go see em live!
Tell you what - bring Freddie Mercury back from the dead and Ill pay whatever you like to see Queen play live.
