Hey QuizFest gals!

We had a blast recently hanging out with the guys of Hot Chelle Rae: Jamie, Ian, R.K. and Nash. They’re cute, hilarious, and they brought us cupcakes! Read on to find out about their Taylor Swift connection, surprising iPod obsessions and secret desires!

QuizFest: Congratulations on the new album, Lovesick Electric. What does it sound like?
R.K.: We’re like feel-good, pop-rock with a lot of dance elements.

QF: Cool! What’s your favorite song on the album?
JAMIE: Mine is “The Distance.” It’s my favorite to play live and it was my favorite to record.
IAN: I’d have to say probably “Bushes.”
NASH: My favorite song is—I think a couple of us will agree on this—“Never Have I Ever.” It has a super-cool feel and a lot of interesting musical elements.
R.K.: I second that.

QF: What was it like working with Stephanie Pratt in your “I Like to Dance” video? How did that happen?
R.K.: She actually heard the song and wanted to be in the video. Then the next thing we know, we’re out in L.A. doing the video and she’s hanging out with us. It was a blast! She was awesome.
JAMIE: We did do this one scene where she dropped the keys to R.K. about thirty times.
R.K.: Yeah, for some reason, the key ring was humongous and there were so many keys on it that every time she dropped it, it would hit my hand and fall off. We shot that scene probably ten times.

QF: What music are you obsessed with now, besides your own?
IAN: People may think it’s embarrassing, but I don’t think it’s embarrassing—I have “Party in the USA” on my iPod.
RYAN: We love that song.
NASH: We all love that song.
IAN: I heard that song on the radio, and I was so excited about it. I came to the guys, and I was like, “Listen to this song!” We all just sat there and listened to it. We said, “This Miley Cyrus song is awesome.”
RYAN: Yeah. She had me at “The Climb.” That song is the bomb.
IAN: I listen to Taylor Swift’s whole record in the car. I love it! She’s re-releasing it with “Thug Story,” which we co-wrote.

QF: That’s so cool! What was it like working with Taylor?
NASH: It was great! We got to meet her and hang out and be there for the recording and mixing. We hung out after she performed it at the CMT Awards.

QF: If a genie appeared and offered to grant you a wish, what would you wish for?
IAN: I’m probably going to say money. I’d also love to fly.
R.K.: Whether it be success or sleeping on a stream, I’d probably just wish for happiness in whatever I’m doing.
NASH: I would want the best guitar ever—my guitar—to be released as my signature model!
JAMIE: I would have the invisibility cloak from Harry Potter.

QF: Finally, if you could go anywhere in the world and take a celebrity with you, where would you go and who would you take?
R.K: I would take Katy Perry with me to Sweden. I’ve always wanted to go there when it’s cold.
JAMIE: I’d probably take Miley Cyrus to Antarctica on a specialized helicopter.
NASH: I’d go snowboarding in Steamboats Wing, Ohio with Kate Beckinsale. It’s the best snow I’ve ever been to! Kate would love it there.
R.K.: I change my answer. I’m taking Katy to Thailand! I want to write pop songs with her there.
IAN: I would go to Bora Bora with Willa Holland. I loved her on The O.C.

QuizFest wants to know: If you could go anywhere in the world with your fave celeb, where would you go and who would you take? Tell us in the comments!
