A CHRISTMAS STORY

ISAIAH 9:2-7

Prophecy

2 The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. The light will shine on those living in the land of dark shadows. 3 You will make the nation great. You will give them great joy. They will be glad before You, as with the joy of gathering time, and as men have joy when they divide the riches taken after a battle. 4 For You will break the heavy load from their neck and shoulders. You will break the power of those who made it hard for them, as at the battle of Midian. 5 For every shoe of the soldiers in the battle, and every coat rolled in blood, will be burned in the fire. 6 For to us a Child will be born. To us a Son will be given. And the rule of the nations will be on His shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Teacher, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace. 7 There will be no end to His rule and His peace, upon the throne of David and over his nation. He will build it to last and keep it strong with what is right and fair and good from that time and forever. The work of the Lord of All will do this.

LUKE 1:26-56
Gabriel Speaks To Mary

26 Six months after Elizabeth knew she was to become a mother, Gabriel was sent from God to Nazareth. Nazareth was a town in the country of Galilee. 27 He went to a woman who had never had a man. Her name was Mary. She was promised in marriage to a man named Joseph. Joseph was of the family of David. 28 The angel came to her and said, "You are honored very much. You are a favored woman. The Lord is with you. *You are chosen from among many women."

29 When she saw the angel, she was troubled at his words. She thought about what had been said. 30 The angel said to her, "Mary, do not be afraid. You have found favor with God. 31 See! You are to become a mother and have a Son. You are to give Him the name Jesus. 32 He will be great. He will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the place where His early father David sat. 33 He will be King over the family of Jacob forever and His nation will have no end."

34 Mary said to the angel, "How will this happen? I have never had a man." 35 The angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come on you. The power of the Most High will cover you. The holy Child you give birth to will be called the Son of God.

36 "See, your cousin Elizabeth, as old as she is, is going to give birth to a child. She was not able to have children before, but now she is in her sixth month. 37 For God can do all things." 38 Then Mary said, "I am willing to be used of the Lord. Let it happen to me as you have said." Then the angel went away from her.

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39 At once Mary went from there to a town in the hill country of Judea. 40 She went to the house of Zacharias to see Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary speak, the baby moved in her body. At the same time Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
42 Elizabeth spoke in a loud voice, "You are honored among women! Your Child is honored! 43 Why has this happened to me? Why has the mother of my Lord come to me? 44 As soon as I heard your voice, the baby in my body moved for joy. 45 You are happy because you believed. Everything will happen as the Lord told you it would happen."

Mary's Song Of Thanks

46 Then Mary said, "My heart sings with thanks for my Lord. 47 And my spirit is happy in God, the One Who saves from the punishment of sin. 48 The Lord has looked on me, His servant-girl and one who is not important. But from now on all people will honor me. 49 He Who is powerful has done great things for me. His name is holy. 50 The loving-kindness of the Lord is given to the people of all times who honor Him. 51 He has done powerful works with His arm. He has divided from each other those who have pride in their hearts. 52 He has taken rulers down from their thrones. He has put those who are in a place that is not important to a place that is important. 53 He has filled those who are hungry with good things. He has sent the rich people away with nothing. 54 He has helped Israel His servant. This was done to remember His loving-kindness. 55 He promised He would do this to our early fathers and to Abraham and to his family forever." 56 Mary stayed with Elizabeth about three months. Then she went to her own home.

Luke 2:1-40
The Birth Of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus sent out word that the name of every person in the Roman nation must be written in the books of the nation. 2 This first writing took place while Quirinius was ruler of Syria. 3 So all the people went to their own cities to have their names written in the books of the nation. 4 Joseph went up from the town of Nazareth in the country of Galilee to the town of Bethlehem. It was known as the city of David. He went there because he was from the family of David. 5 Joseph went to have his and Mary's names written in the books of the nation. Mary was his promised wife and soon to become a mother.
6 While they were there in Bethlehem, the time came for Mary to give birth to her baby. 7 Her first son was born. She put cloth around Him and laid Him in a place where cattle are fed. There was no room for them in the place where people stay for the night.

The Shepherds Learn Of The Birth Of Jesus

8 In the same country there were shepherds in the fields. They were watching their flocks of sheep at night.

9 The angel of the Lord came to them. The shining-greatness of the Lord shone around them. They were very much afraid. 10 The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. See! I bring you good news of great joy which is for all people. 11 Today, One Who saves from the punishment of sin has been born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord. 12 There will be something special for you to see. This is the way you will know Him. You will find the Baby with cloth around Him, lying in a place where cattle are fed." 13 At once many angels from heaven were seen, along with the angel, giving thanks to God. They were saying, 14 "Greatness and honor to our God in the highest heaven and peace on earth among men who please Him."

The Shepherds Go To Bethlehem

15 The angels went from the shepherds back to heaven. The shepherds said to each other, "Let us go now to Bethlehem and see what has happened. The Lord has told us about this." 16 They went fast and found Mary and Joseph. They found the Baby lying in a place where cattle are fed. 17 When they saw the Child, they told what the angel said about Him. 18 All who heard it were surprised at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary hid all these words in her heart. She thought about them much. 20 The shepherds went back full of joy. They thanked God for all they had heard and seen. It happened as the angel had told them.

Jesus Taken To The House Of God

21 When eight days were over, they did the religious act of becoming a Jew on the Child. He was named Jesus. This name was given to Him by the angel when Mary was told He was to be born. 22 When the days were over for her to be made pure as it was written in the Law of Moses, they took Jesus to Jerusalem to give Him to the Lord. 23 It is written in the Law of the Lord, "The first-born male born of a woman will be called holy to the Lord." 24 They were to give a gift of two turtle-doves or two young birds on the altar in worship to the Lord. This was written in the Law of the Lord.

Simeon's Song Of Thanks

25 There was a man in Jerusalem by the name of Simeon. He was a good man and very religious. He was looking for the time when the Jewish nation would be saved. The Holy Spirit was on him. 26 The Holy Spirit made it known to Simeon that he would not die before he had seen God's Chosen One. 27 He came to the house of God being led by the Holy Spirit. The parents took Jesus to the house of God. They came to do what the Law said must be done. 28 Then Simeon took Jesus in his arms. He gave honor to Him and thanked God, saying, 29 "Lord, now let me die in peace, as You have said. 30 My eyes have seen the One Who will save men from the punishment of their sins. 31 You have made Him ready in the sight of all nations. 32 He will be a light to shine on the people who are not Jews. He will be the shining-greatness of Your people the Jews." 33 Joseph and the mother of Jesus were surprised and wondered about these words which were said about Jesus. 34 Simeon honored them and said to Mary the mother of Jesus, "See! This Child will make many people fall and many people rise in the Jewish nation. He will be spoken against. 35 A sword will cut through your soul. By this the thoughts of many hearts will be understood."

Anna Gives Thanks For Jesus

36 Anna was a woman who spoke God's Word. She was the daughter of Phanuel of the family group of Asher. Anna was many years old. She had lived with her husband seven years after she was married. 37 Her husband had died and she had lived without a husband eighty-four years. Yet she did not go away from the house of God. She served God day and night, praying and going without food so she could pray better. 38 At that time she came and gave thanks to God. She told the people in Jerusalem about Jesus. They were looking for the One to save them from the punishment of their sins and to set them free.

They Return To Nazareth
(Matthew 2:19-23)

39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything the Law said to do, they went back to Nazareth in Galilee. 40 The Child grew and became strong in spirit. He was filled with wisdom and the loving-favor of God was on Him.

John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Whoever puts his trust in God's Son will not be lost but will have life that lasts forever. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to say it is guilty. He sent His Son so the world might be saved from the punishment of sin by Him.

Acts 16:30-45
30 ..."What must I do to be saved?"
31 They said, "Put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your family will be saved from the punishment of sin."

Romans 10:9-10 (New Life Version)
9 If you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved from the punishment of sin. 10 When we believe in our hearts, we are made right with God. We tell with our mouth how we were saved from the punishment of sin.

You know, with all of the things that can happen in life, i realize that people go from day to day never thinking forward. Nor do they think outside the boxes of their own lives. People dish about being rich, they complain about their existence, they trip over trip over other's feet without one apology.

and i think, " How did this country get this selfish?"

People scream that there is no God, that there is no afterlife. That Hell isn't a place. It's right here and now.

Heaven is a concept.

All are thoughts until they go through intense searing pain.. One that encompasses the physical, emotional, mental and spritual realms.

When they're about to be washed out by a tsunami, they praise. They look for God. They want to know about Jesus.

But before that, it's all laughing and jokes.

I have to say that there's not enough recognition for what Christmas really is.
And that we Christians are just sitting back saying virtually nothing while others are taking the meaning and blessing of Christmas away from us.

They don't want to hear about Christ because it offends them.

THey just want to do what they want to do without being "judged", never realizing that it's your actions that judge you more than anything else.

All's good until reality points a gun at you.

What will we appreciate?
Wnen will we appreciate?

God has sent a Son to save my soul and has given me an insight into certain affairs that seem to scare others.

A wisdom that i prayed would be akin to Solomon.

When i speak on "appreciation", i just get stares. Like i've said something so deep that no one can speak.

I don't know why that annoys me.

Why being Muslim is vogue, but being a Christian is an anethema.
Why being homosexual is IT, but having an opinion is a phobia.

an irrational fear.

All i know is this world is getting crazier by the minute and we're racing like lightning towards the end of the world as we know it and everyone is still partying like it's 2099.

With all that's going on, i've learned that God has taught me to have my peace.

and that's more than money.

Having understanding and patience.

and to talk to people as brothers and sisters and not preach to them.

Just be the salt in the earth.

Christmas is every day.

and it should be. Standing in church to give and to worship and to thank God every day for another glimpse of existence.

Another day to be free. To think on a better way. To be a better person. The way God intended it.
Your miracle happens every day and no one notices.

It's only "okay" if it works for you.

People cannot be saved unless they're tired of their existence as it is on Earth.

I'm glad that Jesus is real.

Cuz if not, we have NO chance.

I've posted because i wanted you to know that one person notices who you are and what you represent and that you are not alone in your spirit and beliefs on MySpace.

I've posted some epiphanies on my own page in my blog that i call "The Things My Father Taught Me."

So far it's ongoing.

I posted these opinions based on Biblical guidance and personal God-given wisdom to connect with those who no longer think forward. Someone needs to hear this. Someone needs to read this.

So they'll have peace. Which is the whole point of Jesus, am i right?

When you get a chance, check out my blogs and post and give me your thoughts. I like to hear from the flock.

I would need your barometer as a Born Again Sister to give me some thoughts on whether you think it's powerful enough to make you think.

I would appreciate your input.

I just wanted you to know that i see you.
