As you may have observed, I just wrote a few blogs of some things that were bothering lately.  I was sitting at home and I saw the movie Sicko for the first time and it really opened my eyes to a lot of things/propaganda that I have been fed over my adult- and childhood.  That motivated me to look up the actually numbers that made me even more appalled by the situation of healthcare in this country.  I am a part of the 50 million citizens in America that don't have health insurance and after looking at this movie, I got a sense of inequality.  Not only because that I don't have insurance but the fact that if I really sat and applied for it when I was able to pay for it out of pocket that most likely that I would be denied insurance and consequently denied care.  I mean this cat took these people, our "Heroes", that worked at ground zero on 9/11/01 to Cuba, after being continuously denied care and access to preventative care and care for a better quality of life.  They sacrificed for this country and the people of this country for the pursuit of life and the liberty of those taken down in those towers and the government basically said "Fuck you and Fuck what you are going through"  WTF?  In Cuba, they got premiere healthcare.  Regardless of what you feel about Communism, Cuba and Fidel Castro (who is about to die), you have to agree that Cuba shouldn't have to provide care to our "Heroes".  We should be the ones to do it ourselves.  Then, the other interesting part is that when I watch the news and listen to our elected officials, Republicans and Democrats alike, and they tell you and I that Universal Healthcare is Socialism, Anti-American, Communist, etc., you learn that our lack of investment in this principle is ridiculous.  You have to understand that we invest more money in the healthcare field and yet have lower infant mortality rates, life expectency, etc., which shows the ridiculouslessness of the argument.  The government is spending so much money on trying not to have Universal Healthcare.  If you are leasing a car for more than it would cost to just buy the car, why not just buy the car?  See this is the stupidity of this country.

The other subject that bothers me is the subject of this notion that everytime a Black male dies from the hand of someone that is white and in authoritative postion that there is a march, protest or riot.  I mean I ain't saying that someone is supposed to die not am I diminishing the value of this life, I am just saying that we kill ourselves more than anyone else could ever do it.  Eight Black males dying daily from homicide that is mostly motivated and perpetuated by other Black males.  I'm saying protest that.  I understand why Black people have antimosity towards the police, the government and the white man, but we need to look inward on this issue.  We have become to this warzone that has been our homes, neighborhoods, and communities that it almost doesn't bother us until it reaches us personally.  These are our people.  These are our friends, family, sons, brothers, cousins and fathers and we toss their lives aside like they never existed.  I just say that if you are going to protest the death of a Black man from the hands of a White man, then you need to protest with the same veracity to that same life from the hands of another Black man, whether it be deliberate, direct or indirect.

Finally, in Sicko, this member of the Conservative party suspects that the American government refuses to provide adequate healthcare, education, information, etc. to the people is because a healthy, informed people of sound mind is hard to control.  These are keys to control of the population.  If you are worried about everything else other than how your government treats you or too dumb to know that your government should be serving you, then you will never make your government accountable to you.
