I was driving to the other side of the world in my gas guzzling bandmobile. It was filled with boxes of cool new Amy M Tshirts. I had a copy of the new CD "86 Days" and a poster, both destroyed with signatures from all the band members, and Starbucks coffee as a small thank you to Steve, who was our photographer and graphic designer.
What a great morning:) I had almost everything ready for the CD Release Party. I felt like a genius! ....ummmmmm...until I ran out of gas in the middle of the intersection as I was turning left. I was two blocks form a gas station and maybe 2 miles to Steve's house.
nice.
So I called Steve and asked for his help. Just moments before he arrived, a cop put on his flashy lights and pulled up behind me.
double nice.
I think it might be illegal to run out of gas. I know for SURE that it's foolish. But I really didn't want a ticket....or a tow truck.
I saw the cop walking from behind my car and Steve walking from in front. Dying from embaressment, I told the cop that I ran out of gas. He asked if I needed a tow truck. Steve and I convinced him that we could have gas in the car in 10 minutes.
The cop was so nice, he said, "OK, I just stay here and watch your car" I asked him if he wanted to look at my driver's liscense or something....he was like...."sure, if you wanna show it to me"
triple nice! really! :) Both Steve and Kevin the Cop helped me out. Those red gas cans are a little tricky and really heavy.
I'd like to tell you all that I kick ass, but today I just wanted to kick my own ass. To honor the kindness of my two rescuers today, I'd like to dress up as one of them for Halloween. I've been looking for a Steve costume and can't find one anywhere, so I think I'll just go as a Cop this year;)
