Current mood:  blissful
Category: Blogging
INTRO:
It's been so long since I wrote to you guys, I wonder if anyone will read this. Can you comment if you do?

I'm so excited for school. Especially to see some new people and meet old friends.

I lost so much weight! Did I mention? I was at cadet camp for 6 WHOLE WEEKS! It sucked and rocked. So many pros an cons.

PROS:
But in the end i had a great summer full of never-to-forget memories. And I got paid. Yuhp. 60$ A week. I got paid to: Sleep, Eat, Train, Learn, Lose Weight, Make Friends, Earn Badges (I got First-Aid and my CL badge, I sucked at shooting and PT.), and last but not least go to much music video dances!

I loved it so much.

CONS:

There are the crappy parts like hardcore inspections, making your bed, yelling, orders, waking up at 6 am and jogging, time limits for almost everything, conformity, hair always has to be up, no "noticeable" make-up, no music or mp3s on training hours, no cellphones at all.

PAYMENT:
Hey, it's all paid by the Canadian government. If you wonder where your taxes go. They go into my bank account and my belly. :P

SUMMER:

Lol. All in all I missed a lot of the summer. 42 days of it. Before camp I went to Canada's Wonderland with my mom, dad, my brother Alex and his girlfriend Jessie. :) IT was so much fun.

WEEK-ENDS:
The first week-end of camp my parents picked me up (Oh yeah I get week-ends off yay!), we went to Wasaga beach and shopped and swam all day, same with the 4th week-end.

INJURIES:
So obviously little Miss Danii here is bound to get hurt. AND BOY DID I!
I visited the MIR (Walk in clinic only for cadets, cadet staff, officers)maybe once a week about. Here are my stories.

First week:

Reason:
Well, this one we blame on Mr. Sergeant, Travis. Vyse. (And it's a little bit Miss. Sergeant, Falicia. Salinas' fault too.)

How: We we're heading for the sports field and sgt.Salinas didn't know how to get there so she told sgt.Vyse to bring our platoon. We easy march onto the field in our combats and we halt. We get the order to turn right. PROBLEM! Big rock in my way I didn't see. So as both my feet went to pivote, my right foot stayed and my body and left foot turned all the way around. CRACK! I drop in pain. I got carried back to Foxtrot company lines by Sgt.Vyse, Sgt.Salinas, Sgt.Rose. I got sent to the MIR who said I need to go to the hospital for X-rays.

Diagnosis:
At the hospital after the doctor asked, then insisted I was pregnant finally shut up and took my X-rays we found out it wasn't broken. A teared tendant and sprung ankle.

After:
I needed a 120$ air cast. My mom was suppose to get a bill but she sent a letter to Leuitenant Colonel Sheilds (CO of the camp) and they ended up paying for it. Yay.

Second week (Out in the forest for a week.):

Reason:

Walking in combats boots for the last 3 days.

How:
We cleaned our feet and changed our socks everyday, unfortunately I got really small boots. Turns out since my legs we're muscular I had to tighten the laces. Which make the boot tighter around the ankle. (The foot area was perfect.) My feet got cut and if I loosened the laces the boot wouldn't stay on.

Diagnosis: Horrid blisters, I could bearly walk, nevermind carry a ruck sack 1.5kms. I had to take off my boots and walk in socks. It hurt so bad and they didn't use the blister kit.

Third Week:

Reason:
Everyone at camp was sick.

How:
Everyone caughed and puked etc. I went to the MIR to firgure out why I couldn't breath, I thought my throat was swelling again, because I had a throat infection before.

Diagnosis:
The doctor didn't look at my throat and said it's red because you're sick. I said no it's beginning to swell like it had before. And he had insisted no.

After:
I had problems chewing/swallowing, breathing, drinking. I even could bearly cough..everytime I did I would cry. (NEVER GOT HELP FOR IT. I had to wait until it went away.)

Fourth week (Last time in the MIR):

Reason: Ear was ringing and in pain.

How: I assume that my "non-existing" throat infection had lead to an ear infection as well. Might I mention during the third week I had lost my voice completely. And I just just got it back before going to the MIR again.

Dignosis: The doctor who had looked at my throat was the same this time. (Which never happends it's so rare you get the same doctor.)
He had said "OH Danielle you're back because you have a sore ear?" I said "Yes." in a raspy voice. He says "Well, you're voice sounds quite raspy let me have a look-see." He looks into my mouth. "Turns out you must have been right, your throat is swollen. If we had Anti-biotics we would perscribe you some. When you go home make a doctors appointement." He then looked in my ear and gave me ear drops for the "swimmers ear" I had.

OTHER THINGS DONE:
We shot 22 riffles! I was so scared because I never touched a weapon that shot bullets, casings, shells whatever you call it. I held the riffle in one hand the ammo in the other. I smooshed my ear protectors on and wished there was safety glasses. I flipped the safety back opened the bolt and slid the ammo in. I forced the bolt shut and hesitated to pull the trigger. I pulled it and not only did I get a bulls eye! I freaked then said "this is a pussy gun". I got to shot 10 rounds then 20 the next time. I had fun. First Aid was hard! We're now certified though. We went through 5 hours of clips and 2 hour of other classes to learn emergency first aid! I passed the test with flying colors. (I must of been high. :P)  The riffle drill what probably the hardest. I sucked so much but then after a day of practice, I was AMAZING! I am amazing. I'm so proud! I wish I was on the riffle team. They only picked 25 platoon. 26 WAS THE BEST! Anyways.

RAPING IT UP:
Except a lot I had so much fun. Tell me you summer stories! And all the great times you had. Like when Ashley decides to go on top of the lockers. ( 6'6" feet up) and her crush (Warrent Flemming) WALKS in and she spazes and falls OFF! (She was ok) Our Warrent said "How come everytime I turn around or I turned to corner you're doing something weird or funny?" NINA walks in..."LIKE prouncing around?" Then he laughs and Ashley freaks. And Sergeant Salinas walks in: "What we're you little monsters doing. Haha." Lol.:) THen the...ANYWAYS. Anshley's hilarious! Goodtimes. Shows me pics and Let's talk!

♥.Love you.♥
