Current mood: energetic
Thanks to everybody who supported us and our bands this year, it's been the best one for us so far! So let's look back a bit and maybe reveal some future plans as well... here we go, band by band:
ABDUKTIO are currently on tour in the Baltics. Earlier this year they switched from Fullsteam Records to Combat Rock Industry and released the amazing "Yövuoro" 7"/MCD that actually hit the national sales charts at #6! Pretty crazy for a pissed off grassroots hardcorepunk band!
BOMBSHELL ROCKS' latest album that was originally released on CRI in November 2005, was licensed to the UK (Household Name) and Northern America (Sailor's Grave). Currently we are working on deals for Southern America and Japan so it looks like the band will be busy supporting "The Conclusion" in 2007 too!
ENDSTAND celebrated their 10th anniversary with their best album so far, "The Time s now". After the release they toured pretty much all over Europe, establishing themselves as one of Europe's biggest hardcore bands. Sometimes dreams might come true!
HERO DISHONEST toured France and Spain in February with CONFUSA, released their wild "When The Shit Hits The Man" album in October, followed by a tour in the US and later Finland. An european tour is planned for April 2007 and rumor has it that they might hit Southern America later next year...
I WALK THE LINE became the #1 band for Combat Rock Industry in 2006 straight from the beginning of the year when their second album "Desolation Street" was released - at least in Finland that is, but the rest of the world will follow! In the middle of their busy touring schedule IWTL also released a new 7"/MCD "Diamond Eyes" in July and hit #2 on the national charts. Desolation Street will be re-released on the legendary Gearhead over in the US on January 23rd. IWTL will tour Japan in January and the US in March. IWTL is currently putting together songs for their third album...
KIELTOLAKI features members of older finnish bands such as Selfish and Phoenix Foundation but the music is totally something else... it's out of control classic Finnish punk, the best stuff in this genre in years! So after hearing their demo we just had to get to release something by them even though this style is also something new for this label, it's one of the things all of us grew up with...
LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT hit the finnish scene like a storm with the release of their debut album "Navigate By Heart" in March. Their explosive blend of punk and 90s influenced metallic hardcore won over all kinds of people and the next album is planned after summer 2007... rumor has it they might be doing a long tour in mainland Europe with a certain big finnish hardcore band after the release...
MANIFESTO JUKEBOX released their long-awaited third album "Strain" in April. As always they have been busy touring, including Finnish tours with The Sons Of Saturn and later Australia's A Death In The Family as well as a long european tour on their own. The next tour of Europe is scheduled for March 2007.
NINE released the crushing "Death Is Glorious" MCD on CRI in March and the 7" version in November on Blacktop Records. Nine has signed with the finnish metal label Spinefarm and the next full album "It's Your Funeral" will be released on February 28th - the vinyl version will be on CRI! Touring all over the place will follow for sure.
THE PHOENIX FOUNDATION's March-released album "Falling" is the most-listened CRI release this year here at the office. Too bad it has gone under most people's radars as the band do not follow any current trends, just play their powerful melancholic tunes.
UNKIND's vocalist Janne moved to Sweden this year but the band is continuing as a 4-piece with guitarist Tommi and bassist Marko taking over vocal duties. They are finishing writing songs for the next album and making touring plans...
WASTED were on hiatus most of the year, returning in October for their 10th anniversary tour across Finland. It looks like the members will be pretty busy with their other bands (Abduktio, I Walk The Line) in 2007 too but who knows, maybe there will be some new stuff from Wasted too...
