Puff
Summer 2004- november 30th 2006
puff led a long life, picked on and abused as a child by his brother, puff learned to overcome bullies, and having to move around a lot with his owner, he learned to withstand harsh conditions. he was a happy hamster, content to lie around and sleep all day in his "cozy co-op" (which he loved).
plagued in his older years by a strange sickness, he developed a large tumor, which later turned out to be begnin. fierce and unwelcoming to the human hand, he was candy to the eye. he also struggled with bouts of mental illness. but eternally remained a vision of cuteness.
the subject of many of my thoughts and dreams, worries, frustrations and paintings.
puff died quietly, presumably in his sleep. with no signs of struggle. it was time for him to go.
the funeral took place two days later, in my dads backyard. myself, my dad and nancy present, he was laid to rest in his rightful place, alongside all my other childhood friends. pat, knoty, blueberry, green bean, kitty, and several others too far gone to remember the names of.
