A couple of nights ago, Margarito Lopez Martinez, a seasonal worker from Mori's Nursery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, was hit by a car and killed on Niagara Stone Rd.

A trust fund has been set up at the Meridian Credit Union for Margarito's wife and children. The account number is 6650675, and at the Virgil branch it's #69012-837. The workers' families rely heavily on the income earned on Canadian soil, so any contribution you're able to make will be greatly appreciated.

A memorial service will be held in June, and community groups are working to organize a fundraiser for the Martinez family.
